Will resurrected bodies be sexual bodies — capable of sexual activity?

We know from the Bible, there’s no marriage in heaven, and no childbearing either. But it appears resurrected bodies will retain their biological distinctions between the male and female sexes.

Is heaven a place of perpetual celibacy or is there sexual activity in heaven? What do you say?

I doubt it.

Sex is an act of communion, but an imperfect one, but it is a foreshadowing of the communion and intimacy we will have in heaven with God.

I asked this question a lot and I’m pretty sure no because we can’t think of a reality without it

I’ve been sad thinking I may never experience that

But we must realize that the replacement (even if there is none) will be better in heaven

A symbol physical pleasure will be infinitely surpassed
And we will experienced a great love for all the people in our lives not just a spouse

Maybe we will be capable
Either way we shouldn’t worry because it’ll be good that’s all that matters

No. Why would they? The primary end (or purpose) of sex is reproduction, and once we die, we will no longer have any need or purpose for reproduction, neither before or after our souls are reunited with our bodies.

Jesus could eat fish with his resurrected body, so presumably, we’ll have our digestive organs as well.

Will we have to go to the bathroom with our resurrected bodies? 🙂

So just because we have the equipment to do x isn’t a guarantee that we’ll have any need (or inclination) to do x.

Why not add eating drinking and … the other end!

If we have bodies they must be good for something.

Why cant it be like a holo-deck?

Sex is a gift between married spouses.

But our LORD Himself (i.e. not philosophical or theological theory) said that in resurrectional life/body, there would be no marriage.

ISTM clear then, that the resurrectional body does not engage in sexual activity.

Being male or female is not just about the act of sex. Even in celibacy we are always man or woman. It is intrinsic to our bodies, and we do not have a body, we are a body.

But in a life without death it stands to reason that there would be no procreation.

I recently commented on a very similar inquiry in another thread, as follows:

Yes. In fact, in Heaven you will be permanently and intimately united with that other. And commenting on those who say this will not be romantic and/or sexual, in fact it will be both. It will not, however, be lustful, since that is a sin and cannot possibly exist in Heaven.

If it was any other way, I wouldn’t want to go. Would you? What kind of a heaven would Heaven be if man’s deepest desire – a desire given to him by God since he was created – would not be satisfied? Man’s longing for the feminine, and woman’s longing for the masculine, is holy, and has always been acknowledged as such by all authentic traditions, including, of course, the Catholic Church. Arrival in Heaven will not undo, lessen, or alter the holiness of the attraction between the masculine and…

Now you’re recasting what I said in coarse terms in order to build your case against my point. If you don’t believe it, that’s fine. (And I don’t say that with bitterness.) I will say though, that it is a general tendency in modern Christian thought to believe that all desire, and especially sexual desire, are a barrier to entrance to Heaven. This isn’t so. What presents a barrier to entrance to Heaven, is sin. Sexual desire is only sinful when it is lustful. A pure desire for union with the o…

The difference is that HE never said there would be no food in the next life.

No one knows. Anyone saying they do is answering above their paygrade.
