Will resurrected bodies be sexual bodies — capable of sexual activity?

Somehow I don’t think such an earthly human thing designed for procreation will be of such importance in the presence of God in heaven.
I think it would be wrong longing for heaven ,to be with God and having that concept in the back of our minds as one of the rewards .

If anybody here happens to have a formed.org subscription either personal or through their parish, there is an ebook “Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Heaven (But Never Dreamed of Asking!)”, by Peter Kreeft. Chapter 8 covers the "will there be sex in Heaven?, question. Eight full pages. I can’t say I agree or disagree. I stopped reading after about the third page, as it didn’t click with me. I thought I’d go back and finish reading it, but I haven’t, so far.

You’re funny…
Now you should understand.
No marriage on Earth means no sex on Earth. No marriage in Heaven means no sex in Heaven. This is Church doctrine backed by the full authority of God.

I don’t know. If I were forced to take my best guess … I’d say that in Heaven there might be something analogous–something that our best selves are really yearning for and straining towards when we engage in romantic love and licit sex. But I’m not sure our minds & hearts as they are can really understand it, or our Earthly languages describe it. We must be content to wait & see, and hope for a glimpse of it if it exists.

Read what Peter Kreeft wrote above. I’ll go with what he has to say over you.
First of all the only thing that counts is Church teaching and not what the opinion of any individual says.
Second, please direct me to what Peter Kreeft says to back up your claim that Church teaching on this subject is wrong because I like Peter Kreeft’s books and have never seen him reject any Church doctrine.

I posted it above a few posts up. Stop pretending that you know what God has planned for us in Heaven. There’s no sin there. Anything that God allows will be good. Please for the love of God stop acting as if you’ve been to Heaven and Jesus went over the rule book with you personally. You have no clue.
Is that a joke?
Christ gave the Church authority to teach in matters of faith and morals and what is bound on earth Christ said is bound in Heaven. That means there is no sex outside marriage full stop. God said there is no marriage in Heaven. That means there is no sex in Heaven.

People will be perfectly purified either in Purgatory or in this life by grace, so they won’t experience those things.

I would find it extremely difficult to accept the proposition that sexual love will be possible for earthly lovers in heaven.

This is because of the same question that was asked to Our Lord — ‘which of the brothers, if she was married to all?’.

Let’s say one was married to two or three spouses on earth and loved each dearly. Will one have polygamous non-lustful sex in heaven with each of those people, and then everyone else with all of one’s earthly spouses and maybe some others one didn’t marry? Or will people get to choose? What of those who will have to be rejected in order to maintain monogamy? Pure heavenly happiness in the friendzone for them?

Doesn’t add up, sorry.

And the proposals that everybody would have a sexual relationship with everybody in some form of ‘holy promiscuity’? That is ludicrous. With one’s parents too? Siblings? Sworn celibataries?

One group orgy involving hundreds, thousands or more people and their sexual organs? That is supposed to be heaven? Seriously, guys, get serious for a moment.

"I think there must be some special “kindred souls” in Heaven that we are designed to feel a special sexual love for. That would be the Heavenly solution to the earthly riddle of why in the world John falls for Mary, of all people, and not for Jane, and why romantic lovers feel their love is fated, “in the stars”, “made in Heaven”.

As I said above the opinion of individuals is not relevant. The only thing that matters is the Church teaching with the full authority of God behind it. God has spoken and does not lie.

Perhaps, but perhaps heaven just frees us from unsatisfied physical needs and wants. Perhaps there will be no hunger, but we will need to eat.

I was going to post Kreeft’s commentary on the subject, you beat me to it.
