So that was a jump from a post about statues being torn down to another “Democrats are Satan” thread.
it shows the history of the movement and that it is not just a few post.

people need to see the train coming down the track, but if they are in denial they will never see it until it runs them over.

The end game of all this is to attempt the destruction of the Church. Not the various Christian denominations that are nebulous enough to not be a target. The Church.
So it begins.

It will soon be intolerable to deny the use of Church property for any occasion. Property will be confiscated. The tax exemptions will probably go first.
The Church’s moral teaching will be deemed hate speech. Bishops will go to jail.
It’s only a matter of time. My guess is 20 years.
I think you are optimistic here. Given the concentrated power of the media it will be sooner.

I agree with much of this but I do not think many bishops will stand against it loud enough to go to jail. I pray you are right.

It was posted in another thread, Maronites and Coptic Christians (Copts) - Egypt, have been in the Middle East surely for centuries, maybe even cerca to when Christ was there, check out their imagery. And to be fair, check out imagery in the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. These people have been there, I don’t know the exact history.

Also, St. Thomas evangelized India, images of him may give some insight as well.

It should not be that we are totally guessing at this. We do have some leads.

For many years in my parish a group of us would gather, after Mass to take turns with praying the decades of a rosary. I moved there in 1986 and it was still going on until the pandemic began. I’ve been to other parishes in this area and they do the same thing; some pray it before Mass begins.

Because of my age and lung issue I live alone and get help from loving relatives that live near me. Occasionally I get to pray with my daughter when she visits.

I say rosaries along with rosaries on the computer.

More believers need to begin praying rosaries and make some sacrifices that Our Lady requested at Fatima and many other approved apparitions as well.

I am sure many are already doing this, but we need more!

With great sadness, I agree.

Do any of you remember Father Scanlan from EWTN? He had a prophecy about this time :

there will be purification and persecution among my people. You will have to stand for what you believe. You will have to choose between the world and me. You will have to choose what word you will follow and whom you will respect.

And even with all of that, I am full of Christian hope. We can’t place our hope in comfortable cultural acceptance. If we realize that Christianity and The Church transcend the world, our hope will not be damaged when persecutions come, and they always do.

Unlike the disbelieving secularist, who lives in a blank, pitiless universe, signifying nothing, every Catholic has a bubble of joy deep within - knowing, as we do, that every suffering, every injustice in this world will be answered and turned to joy in the next.

n this short homily, father asks us as things continue to get worse, where will you stand and who will you side with?
We must all pray to stand with God and the church, no matter what. Nothing, nothing else matters in the slightest. I mean this with all my heart.

I tried using this as an excuse not to clean the yard this morning. Didn’t work…

Does any of it matter?
What matters most to you?
What gives your life meaning?
How do you spend your time?
Is there a particular concern of yours, to which you devote valuable portions of your time?

Yes.
My family.
My family (just been playing with my granddaughter)
Reading, sport, sailing, golf, writing, studying, travelling (not so much at the moment)…it’s a long list.
No. But there should be. I’m thinking on that.

Do you honestly spend more time with your family than you do talking with Catholics about God?
Honestly…

Well, anytime today I’m not posting something, I’ll be looking after my grandkid. If she wasn’t here then the day would be spent with my wife. We’re retired so we have all day together. With the odd break for golf or watching sport or reading by myself or practicing my Spanish un poco mas or writing or building my still or cooking or going to the gym or…well, the list goes on.

Jesus was true God & true Man. Are our priests & male parishioners true men? Or do we cower until this madness passes. At my parish I’d punish any cretins attempting to erase history with our BVM statue & crucifix. Am I a bad guy? Are these signals & symbols not important? (-*

Full disclosure: I’m not a bad guy but I am a sinner. I’ve no problem doing what it takes to protect those & that which I love.

I suspect that if you honestly appraised your time usage, you would find that you are here talking about God more than you spend with your family.
Seriously…look at your time usage. It’s pretty difficult to hide.
