The current crop of dems is promising everything for free when what we need is for them to make it easier for people to produce what we want to buy!
Capitalists seek to discover what people want and produce and market it as efficiently as possible as a means to profit. A historical example of this process would be John D. Rockefeller, whose successful marketing drove kerosene prices down from 58 cents a gallon in 1865 to 7 cents in 1900. Henry Ford became rich by producing cars for the common man. Both Ford’s and Rockefeller’s personal benefits pale in comparison to the benefits received by the common man who had cheaper kerosene and cheaper and more convenient transportation.

start believing in climate change or everyone dies…only this is for real.

The children (in this case my grandson, age 10) explained to me perfectly the association of the sun to our Northern lights…My heart skipped a bit…it was eloquent.!~ He also went on to explain that there is scientific proof that the planet we live on aligns perfectly with the Holy Fathers admonishment to us as Catholics and as a world. (I added the Holy Father)…because we’re destroying our eco-system with pollution. Like a body that needs nourishment to grow, feed the ocean and earth with no regulations, what do you expect from that ocean and ground in return??? A 10th grader could answer it…no need.

Our children believe in rational science they are being taught, they will look back, they might ask what WE did, I’m dead serious.

Do the socialists have to be the ones that are right in this case and in every case that aligns with the gospel regarding our attitude towards others? I hope not.

Thanks for proving my point!!!

Not even the most alarmist ‘scientist’ supports your statement.
Your favorite movies, The Day After Tomorrow etal, are called Cli-fi because there isn’t any science behind them.

Thanks for proving my point
I could do it any day and twice on Sunday, with an inclination.

We have animals facing extinction, fish and mammals too because of man, you can’t have long term survival with insufficient habitat. Congratulations exploitation.

We don’t need to be an alarmist to take action, and the fire alarm has already been pulled.

Yes Theo. It’s more than a concern and fool hearty not to do something about turning the sails around before willingly sailing into the squall…Why ignore the warnings?

Interesting subject.

Don’t socialists need the capitalist system to be running as efficiently as possible to reap the maximum possible taxes for redistribution?

Was it Margaret Thatcher who said” the problem with socialism is eventually you run out of other peoples money”🤨

Wasn’t it G.K. Chesterton who said the problem isn’t too much capitalism, the problem is too few capitalists…

Open the door to the winds of change and allow for the infrastructure needed for long term survival…we don’t subscribe as Christians to eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow we die…

So much awaits us by way of jobs in technology to thwart the pollution and the rape of the earth since ecological regulations have been rolled back. I believe that could be considered a mortal sin…The command was to be good stewards of the earth, not rape it here and in other countries as well…All in the name of capitalism and its mascot, greed.

Regulations stifle competition. When you need to spend huge amounts of money to start a business, it becomes very difficult to become an additional capitalist.

Regulations stifle competition
In todays day and age regulations are the only thing that will make competition possible.

One can’t compete if there are no longer natural resources for which persons make a living. Are we going to have any fish left in the years to come?

Be wise. Regulations are re-active not pro-active in our country.

This means regulations were never put in place so someone wouldn’t exploit the system, regulations were put in place because someone did.

You are a fan of more regulations it seems.

Do you think we’ll get it right this time, kinda like socialism?

Regulations have always been reactive and they will never be perfect, even the well intentioned ones. People adapt and exploit. Since big business often helps craft the new regs, they are the biggest exploiters.

won’t happen, cause the bible tells me so…

there will be people on the planet until Jesus returns.

why does everyone forget this?

And you may meet HIm sooner than you think.

Your “reasons” for not worrying remind of the cute parable that went around years ago about the town that was flooding with wind and waves and the people were evacuating…But there’s a man who could not be persuaded to come along, God would save him. Well if I think I remember the story, he meets the Lord in heaven where he asks Lord, why didn’t you save me?..The Lord told him he sent him messengers, and help, what more did he need???

200 plus tornadoes with more states threatened, threats of species extinction, homes floating away in front of our blind eyes. Maybe the expensive homes that are rapidly loosing value because they’ll be floating in water soon enough will turn the tide.

If compassion for creation and the eco-system we’ve been commanded to steward doesn’t do it, maybe the capitalist in his frenzy to save his investments will.

Shouldn’t our poor neighbors be allowed the life saving utility of electricity?
1.3 billion people lack access to electricity and they aren’t going to get it in usable quantity with solar. They need cheap power they can afford for lights and refrigeration, etc.

This wouldn’t have anything to do with coal or fossil fuels now would it? This is your opportunity to enlighten me because this idea when compared to Japan and China, of sending people back into black lung holes isn’t going to allow them to afford what we have now.

The 3rd world can’t afford renewable energy for their base power, heck even the 1st world can’t afford it.

Just stop your hyperbole, mining coal is remarkable safe compared to 100 yrs ago (mechanization). Also China has been a top producer for decades, we aren’t sending them anywhere.

I don’t quite know how to break it to you charitably, but I think just out with it is best sometimes.

Those coal mining jobs Trump promised. Well…they’re not coming back. Not the way it once roared, and manufacturing isn’t either.

You’re in lala land again. Manufacturing has seen significant growth in jobs vs under Obama. Of course they are not the exact same mfg jobs, but they pay much better than service jobs.

Trump has saved what’s left of the coal industry. The Obama regs would have continued to drive closures and bankruptcies. No, it’s not coming back to earlier levels since Natural Gas is a better alternative.

Yes, I misspoke and should have somehow described the regs I was talking about.

When it comes to regs, we totally need some, but there can be too many just as there can be too few.
