It isn’t my narrative. There is a concerted effort by both parties to debunk the prevelant voting fraud in this Nation. They cannot allow it to be verified that the democratic right to cast a vote is being violated by illegal votes.Perception is reality as in most thing political.
Think Chicago and Kennedy stealing the election from Nixon.Nixon being a statesman preferring not to put the country through the shenanigans we are dealing with in this election and prior ones.
It’s a little unrealistic to expect a Republican to win in any high-density area, isn’t it? be that as it may, each polling place has a representive from each party overseeing the vote and counting. Voter fraud would be difficult under those circumstances.

The thing to keep in mind too is that even if evidence was found that voter fraud happened or is in the works…say boxes of pre-checked ballots for a particular candidate are found, or electronic votes hacked into the system for a particular candidate, or mass deletions of electronic votes for a particular candidate, or the screen reads VOTE HERE for Candidate A then code behind the screen allots every 3rd vote to Candidate B…doesn’t necessarily mean THAT PARTICULAR candidate (or his/her party) was responsible for it. It could be a setup by the other party or from an enemy of a nation to cause instability and doubt.

In other words, I think there are a variety of ways voter fraud is possible, especially in areas where the local poll staff don’t want to look too closely, but not necessarily indicative of an intention or criminal act by the candidate or party who benefits.

It’s important cool heads prevail with this kind of stuff if something rears up in and shows fraud undoubtedly happened. IOW Lynch mobs stay home.

For those keeping track, Clinton has thus far gained 11 votes in Wisconsin.

The statement was made about “the people” speaking loud and clear. Citing the number of counties won does not prove that claim.
Correct. It is the states that have spoken loud and clear.

We are clearly a people divided - a progressive population mainly along the coasts, and a center-right population throughout the rest of the nation. This is indicated by the majorities in congress and among the state governors and legislatures

Are we the only country where we take a 2.5 million popular vote winner and make it loud and clear that she really got slaughtered? Probably not. But those countries would hardly be worthy of emulation.

That’s not exactly true either. It is a mistake to treat a state like Michigan which Trump barely won as if it is speaking loud and clear for Trump. It is more like a garbled whisper. It is only the artificial rules of the electoral college that turn that squeaker into a unanimous decision. There are few states that Trump won by much more than the skin of his teeth. No reasonable person would characterize this as the states speaking loud and clear.

She got beaten in the only way that matters: by counting the electoral votes of each state.

Whether or not other countries have a system of government like ours is irrelevant. Ours is a government that balances democracy, republicanism, and federalism. The electoral college reflects that balance.

Having said that, I do agree that Republican-friendly media and pundits have been overemphasizing the so-called “landslide” of the electoral votes. And I also observe that Democrat-friendly media and pundits overemphasize this nonsense about popular vote leads by Mrs. Clinton, all of which comes from dominating in Los Angeles County, the Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens (2.7 million ahead of Trump).

These two candidates were extremely even, and the electoral college and the popular vote don’t do justice to that fact.

I would surely hope we don’t think the candidate with 2.5 million more votes makes it loud and clear she was slaughtered. 2.5 milllion more votes is more than our only Catholic President, JFK, won by and more than Nixon won by in 1968.

It does make a difference when you’re trying to preach democracy to the rest of the world.

Those who think the United States is a democracy are simply ignorant. Our system of government is more complicated and, yes, more elegant than simple mob rule.

I agree the EC is the only way that matters. But what I don’t get is people dismissing places like LA county and the rest of CA and NY and WA and OR and NV and NM and MN and MD and Northeastern states. They’re Americans, right?
