Your post says a lot about what an “average woman’s” attitude toward men and her husband is. Wow.
She isn’t wrong, though. The average man doesn’t see his wife not asking permission to do mundane things as somehow threatening his masculinity.

Yes, it says that the average woman doesn’t see most men as so needy or bullying that they would expect their wives to ask permission to run errands or go for a walk.

Maybe my wife thinks the same. I’m not sure where she is right now but I’ll ask her when she gets back.
 
Nowadays, in most modern societies, it would probably be the opposite: the husband would need permission from his wife for this and many other things.
