The whole thing just has a sort of “pagan-ness” to it, and it has nothing to do with the personal sanctity of women. The Church on the whole is becoming more feminized as women take over more and more of the roles in the Church. When that happens, it upsets the hierarchical nature of the Church, but because of feminism and society’s mistaken notion of equality, women are now in the Sanctuary. The altar is reserved for those representing Christ, so it should be men. There is a a whole different dynamic when it’s just men and boys on the altar than it is when it’s coed. Usually when some practice goes from all men to coed, it ends up becoming all female. Look the altars in your parishes. I bet that most of the Extraordinary ministers, servers, and readers are girls. Some may hail this as progress, but it’s not. It’s leading to a departure from the nature of the Mass. Is it coincidence that this feminization of the altar coincides with the elimination of the vertical element in the Mass?
