i can see that fault to a counter protest, but the way the media is now…they make it seem like every catholic woman wants to be ordained and ignore the fact that this is just a small fringe group.

What really irks me about these groups is that they are more interested in promoting perverse feminism than actually wanting to serve God as a priest does.
Even if I was to sympathise with them over feeling left out of the priesthood, I remember that not only do they want female priests but they promote the use of contraceptives and the right to abortions too! So I don’t think they really give a damn about the ministry of the priesthood, they just want to see a woman at the altar and that about all sums up their appreciation of the Catholic faith and its morality.

What they want to do is trash The Church, and try to make it look bad. They are no more Catholic than I am athiest, in fact I believe they even hate the Church and anything it stands for.

Exactly they are a small fringe group, and the media will carry anything that is Anti Catholic. There is plenty of anti Catholic behaviuor out there.
By protesting against them gives them credibility, they are a bunch of anti Catholic angry women. Who by the way are not going anywhere certainly not to The Priesthood. Pray for them!

I would say what is needed is more time praying and seeking God and less time marching.
It’s not about demanding rights for what you don’t have, it’s about taking care of the responsibilities you already do have such as submitting your will to God’s.
If the women involved really care about pleasing God, even if they think they are 100% right and The Church is 100% wrong, whatever happened to offering our sorrows and pains to atone for the sins of ourselves or others. I mean if they truly feel wronged they could offer that suffering up.

JP II’s document *Ordinatio Sacerdotalis (*and the followup dubium) really took the wind out of the sails of the women priest movement. As another mentioned, all that is left is the fringe. The only argument they have left is, “Well gee, we aren’t sure if OS is infallible, or it is merely saying non-infallibly that it is infallible, or that if church officials are non-infallibly saying the the statement was infallible and…” You get the point. Anyone who was argued with an anti-Catholic fundamentalist recognizes this as the Infallibility Regress argument. “Where is your infallible list of infallible Catholic doctrines?” and such. That is to say, when your only argument is where to mark off where an infallible something gets to a fallible something, it’s time to quit 'cause your done.
So I’m inclined to not counter-protest but let this die a quiet and richly deserved death.

If you don’t believe in the fundamental teaching of the CATHOLIC Church or feel that the Pope and Magistarium are not to be obeyed…then they are Protestants not Catholics no matter what they call themselves. Too many today feel that the Church should change to match society but they have it backwards…society needs to change and match the Church.
The women and men that might march don’t understand the beautiful, valuable and important roles that women have in the church.

Just this week at a parish function, a woman (another “product” of the 60s) was going on about how deciding whether someone can be ordained shouldn’t be determined by genitalia. One of the things she said is “isn’t it great, though, that all are welcome to the Catholic church, that there are many ‘brands’ of Catholics and we’re all good?” She is a good woman, well-respected in the parish and community, who’s done a lot for the church – and because she is nice, friendly, generous, etc., what she says that goes against Church teaching is frequently considered to be words of wisdom.
Sad to say, proponents of female ordination (and of other issues against the Church’s teachings) are not irrelevant – even as these people age and pass on. What they have contributed positively to the Church and to society have been appreciated, and pastors don’t want to step on their toes, and haven’t corrected them. These “sages” have passed on their mis-teachings to untold numbers of family members and others. Pastors and bishops are reluctant to acknowledge and admonish cafeteria Catholicism and relativism, and the damage they have done and continue to do to the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.

These women have no idea what the priesthood is. They seem to think of it as a promotion or something that is to be sought after. It is not. It is a vocation that certain people are called to. But it is not the only vocation within the Church; being a layman is also a vocation. The layman has the job of transforming the world to the image of the heavenly kingdom. The priest and the layman have a corresponding place in the Church. Neither can do without the other and they have equal dignity. They are both equally a part of the people of God but the Grace of God has acted in them toward different purposes.
Women are not called to the priesthood. Their vocation lies in another place. Their vocation is no less Catholic, it is just a different path in which the Spirit has guided them.

i wonder what these women have against nuns. everytime i have heard it mentioned to them that they could go that route they seem to get offended and mad.
it really gets me that these women do have an option if they feel called to serve the Church directly. however it almost seems as if they think it is beneath them to be anything but a priest so they dismiss it. i wonder how many of these women were actually called to holy life but have ignored it because they couldnt do it their way.
