In light of the punishable actions that can be taken for those in the Church that decide to ordain women, I found this website.

romancatholicwomenpriests.org/index.php

Not sure if you all are familiar with it, but wow, what rot and filth. I don’t understand why people who don’t agree with the Church do their own thing, but still use the Catholic name when clearly there isn’t anything Catholic about them. Last time people disagreed with the Church the reformation happened. Now it seems they are staying in the Church and instead distorting the One True Faith.

I wrote to one of the contacts telling them to not use the Catholic name and gave them some attitude about it. I’d recommend you all also give them a piece of your mind as well.

sending them hate mail won’t change their stance

rather, pray for them that they may be enlightened and that they may stop what their doing and return to the Church

It’s not hate mail, but admonishing. They need our prayers yes, but be an answer to prayer!

if you read their website, they have been excommunicated. i don’t think its our place to admonish them further as the Church has already done what is needed. i’m pretty sure what you told them, they have heard many, many times in the past. it didn’t change their stance then, what we do now won’t change their stance

being an answer to prayers doesn’t mean we take things in our own hands. it means we let God move us with His will.

I agree with you, rben. It does feel like we are on the verge of a new reformation and a lot of people are being led astray by dissenters of all sorts.

I heard a British advocate for a female clergy on my local BBC radio station yesterday morning droning on and on about how the Church has got it all wrong. She even said, in a matter of fact manner as if it is true and we all know it, that there were women at the Last Supper. This is nowhere in scripture. Our Lord had supper with the “twelve” and instituted the Eucharist with THEM. He told THEM to, “Do this in memory of Me”. After He rose from the dead, He breathed on THEM saying, “Receive the Holy Spirit,” thus ordaining them as the first bishops, not Mary Magdalene or any of the women who ministered to Him. Not even His Blessed Mother!

However, as is usual in these interviews, there was no one there with the orthodox view to correct her and make the point against what she was saying. Therefore, uninformed listeners pick up on this and develop their own sense of what the Catholic Church teaches. The media is intent on developing a picture of the Magisterium as a bunch of mean old bogey men intent on ruining everyone’s fun.

The website claims the “women-priests” have apostolic succession. Does does anyone know which bishop “ordained” them?

The title of his thread is a misnomer. There is no such thing as a “woman priest” any more than there is a “man mother.”

They won’t tell you what Bishop profaned the sacrament of Holy Orders by carrying out a mock ordination of them, they may be lying but on other hand such a Bishop would be excommunicated so its reasonable that they wouldn’t tell anyone who it was if it did take place.

They can’t have apostolic succession for the simple fact that a woman is not proper matter for the sacrament of holy orders any more than doughnuts are the correct matter for the sacrament of the mass.

Just as priest cannot turn doughnuts into the body and blood of Christ nor can a Bishop turn a woman into a priest.

I know you already knew that but it can’t be repeated enough times lol

As to contacting them you will find if you ask questions they cant answer using their pat answers they will just start ignoring your emails, that’s what happened to my wife when she took them to task a while back.

Careful careful careful. This is very close to swarming, which is against the forum rules and good sense (it solves nothing and brings us to their level).

The best you can do is to (1) Understand their “arguments” so you can tell the truth to those who may be led astray by them and (2) pray for them that God may open their eyes.

And what makes you think your “attitude” makes any difference whatsoever to them?

I’ve always liked the prayer:
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Some people will do things I approve of, others will do things I don’t approve of, and I can’t control them either way.

I believe it was one of the Old Catholic Bishops. They do have Apostolic Succession unfortunately. They however are in schism, and obviously heresy.

The Bishop ordained a female (I think from South Africa) to the deaconate, priesthood, and then as a bishop. She took it from there and we now have 100 so-called women “priests” in America.

You should put “ordained” in quotation marks as well, since the attempted ordination was invalid regardless of the validity of the orders of the original (male) Old Catholic bishop.

Completely correct and I would if I could still edit it. But alas, I cannot.

i thought Old Catholics are ridiculously traditional
or perhaps the name fools me

I suggest we swarm them with prayers

Once again, or is it “still”, the Devil is at work within the Catholic Church. From what I’ve read in their website and what I do know of Church history, these women:

1 ) Really distort Church history.

2 ) Are sinning against God, maybe even blaspheming Him.

3 ) Are NOT Catholic.

4 ) Are egocentric feminists.

5 ) Love to play church.

6 ) Have excommunicated themselves.

The “ordinations” are not valid or licit. The Church’s reason for not ordaining women is based upon Christ’s and the Apostles teachings and therefore it cannot ordain them. These women should give up their aspirations, redeem themselves, go to confession and submit themselves to the will of God, as given by the Catholic Church. We should all pray to the Holy Spirit for them.

PAX DOMINI :signofcross:

Shalom Aleichem Totus TUUS Domini

I share the OP’s frustration that these women (and those who support them) call themselves Catholic. Why do they do this? If they separate themselves from the
Church in this manner they should call themselves something else. This can confuse people, especially the poorly catechized and non-Catholics.
