You make an excellent point. Christ never shrunk from proclaiming the Word of God…whether it was “politically correct” or not. He would have chosen a female apostle if He wanted female priests. Do people REALLY think that He just didn’t know that this would become an issue? Do they believe that He couldn’t forsee women…whose primary reason for demanding ordination is recognition…would challenge His example?There is no such thing as a woman priest. There are sad, deluded women who think that they are priests. There is a difference. No Pope, Cardinal, or Bishop could ever change that. (Even if they wanted to!) Jesus didn’t ordain women, and neither will we.**** And Jesus was a social radical! People don’t seem to get that! He broke so many social taboos of His time, and would have had no problem ordaining women…but He didn’t!!! ****Clearly He didn’t want female apostles!!!
I wish these feminists would stop putting themselves above Christ.![]()
This kind of thinking is purely Protestant & we can see how “unscriptural” these Sola Scriptura religions have become:
During the 16th century, AKA the “reformation”, Martin Luther, Calvin, Knox & other leadrs of the Protestant religions based these same faith’s on the 5 Sola’s. Primary among these was Sola Scriptura , Scripture Alone. Scripture was declared by these men to be “authoritative for the faith and practice of the Christian”. They held that the Bible is complete, authoritative, and true. “All Scripture is ‘God breathed’ (given of inspiration of God) and is profitable for teaching, reproof, correction, instruction in righteousness…” (2 Timothy 3:16). While the Catholic Church has always believed the same re. scripture, the founders of the Protestant faiths added that No traditions of churches are nedeed. God’s Word is sufficiently enough.
So, what is happening now? Scripture is being ignored by the leaders of Protestantism today:
Scripture tells us:
+++Christ did not include women in his band of apostles.
+++Scripture forbids divorce & remarriage:
Mark 10:11-12 [Jesus] answered, “Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her. And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery.”
Luke 16:18 Jesus is quoted again, saying, “Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and the man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.”
Romans 7:2-3 The apostle Paul taught that “…by law a married woman is bound to her husband as long as he is alive, but if her husband dies, she is released from the law of marriage. So then, if she marries another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is released from that law and is not an adulteress, even though she marries another man.”
There is, of course, more Scripture that declares that divorce & remarriage while the spouse is still alive is against the will of Christ, Himself.
+++Scripture also forbids coitus interruptus & all unnatural means used to control procreation:
From the Duoay Rheims Bible:
8 Juda, therefore said to Onan his son: Go in to thy brother’s wife and marry her, that thou mayst raise seed to thy brother. 9 He knowing that the children should not be his, when he went in to his brother’s wife, spilled his seed upon the ground. And therefore the Lord slew him, because he did a detestable thing.
Mainline Protestantism has redefined this Scripture to serve their own needs, by proclaiming that Onan was slain by God because he was selfish. They claim that Onan’s sin consisted **solely **in his abandonment of his familial obligations to his dead brother. This has caused much consternation among Orhodox Jews, for the punishment, according to the Levirate Law, for refusing to “raise up children for a dead brother’s wife” was public humiliation…NOT death.
**+++Scripture forbids homosexual acts. **
St. Paul to the Romans, "For their women exchanged the natural sexual relations for unnatural ones, [27] and likewise the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed in their passions for one another. Men committed shameless acts with men and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.
Yet, the mainline Protestant faiths are actually placing active homosexuals into leadership positions.
Therefore, IMO., it’s fruitless to debate the ordination of women, birth control, abortion, divorce & remarriage, homosexual unions, etc…with those who are not Catholic. In some ways, I can’t really fault people in the protestant pews for their acceptance of teachings that go against scripture, (though I do find their leaders at fault.) I tell myself that they’ve been brainwashed for SO many years, yet why would they even ask why the Catholic Church won’t ordain women. If they are so scripturally knowledgable, why can’t they figure that out??
