I equate an open mind with maturity in my faith.
That is an extremely general statement that I am comfortable saying I agree with but doesn’t shed much light on the discussion.I equate an open mind with maturity in my faith.
IOW, females of other denominations have no more power to confect the Eucharist than do their male counterparts since they do not have valid ordinations. Ordaining women in the Catholic Church would invalidate any such ordinations. Only the Orthodox churches have valid ordinations apart from those of the Catholic rites, and none of them ordain women, either, or ever will.So no female who has been ordained in other churches is doing anything at their altars except doing what their men are doing–confecting nothing.

Easy for you to say, sir.“We can’t be ordained just because we came in the wrong wrapper.”
There, ladies and gentlemen, is the heart of the problem. In her worldview, the only difference between men and women are the sexual organs. Manicheanism lives. To her, all human souls are of the same character, they just have different physical manifestations. She fails to understand the catholic principle that we are a body/soul unity. Thus, it never occurs to her that physical differences might imply differences that go BEYOND the physical. I wonder if she ever pondered the possibility that when two things are different, one isn’t necessarily inherently ‘better’ than the other.![]()

Easy for any Catholic/Orthodox woman to say, as well, as I also do.Easy for you to say, sir.
**The time will come when the RCC will seriously consider this. Time at the Vatican does move slowly so it will probably not be in our generation./**quote]
It never ceases to amaze me how people choose to ignore the truth about this issue. This is not a discipline like celebate preists. It is a as good as doctrine that can not, (not will not) I repeat cannot change. My first question to you would be if the Church does not have the authority to do this, do you believe at some point the church will be given the authority to do so? Please note the the churches authority comes from none other than Our Lord. My second question is do you believe you are a church faithful while still not holding to the definitive truth of the quote from Adonis33.
Peace!

The Church has spoken on this matter - it will never consider this. From ORDINATIO SACERDOTALIS:
Wherefore, in order that all doubt may be removed regarding a matter of great importance, a matter which pertains to the Church’s divine constitution itself, in virtue of my ministry of confirming the brethren (cf. Lk 22:32) I declare that the Church has no authority whatsoever to confer priestly ordination on women and that this judgment is to be **definitively held by all the Church’s faithful.

The biggest problem with open minds is that so often they allow the brain to fall out.I equate an open mind with maturity in my faith.
Much prefer it to a closed one.The biggest problem with open minds is that so often they allow the brain to fall out.
Out of curiosity, what do you consider the characteristics of an open mind?Much prefer it to a closed one.![]()
maturity=ability to see another’s point of view…not necessarily agree with it. You are putting words in my mouth (keyboard)Out of curiosity, what do you consider the characteristics of an open mind?
Are you accepting of absolutely everything? What are your boundaries?
If you have boundaries then don’t you also have a closed mind as it pertains to some things?
Ultimately, we all have open minds at some times and with some set of things and also closed minds at other times and with other sets of things.
That is why saying a response of “I have and open mind” has no value. The purpose of these discussion boards is to examine a topic and express specific thoughts on the topic.
So. Do you agree with the “WomenPriest” movement which is in direct defiance of Church doctrine and appears to associate itself with new-age mystical ideas which are also inconsistent with the Catholic faith?maturity=ability to see another’s point of view…not necessarily agree with it. Fair enough.I see their point of view.![]()

Oddly, that’s often the rebuttal I get when arguing with feminists that abortion is murder. Dodge the issue and make a personal jab.Easy for you to say, sir.![]()
I don’t claim that an open mind automatically is sinning. But I will not have an open mind about things that are clearly destructive - abortion, women claiming to be Roman Catholic Priests who can say Mass, etc.Good for you, Carolinagirl. Well put.
Folks…open minds are not always sinning. Your negative attitudes are noted.![]()
Good for you, Orions Belt. Well put.I don’t claim that an open mind automatically is sinning. But I will not have an open mind about things that are clearly destructive - abortion, women claiming to be Roman Catholic Priests who can say Mass, etc.
These women have every right to do what ever they want. Except, they just can’t claim to be Roman Catholic Priests.
If they want to create the “church of Sarah and Jane” they will get no criticism from me. They can ordain anyone they want. They can conduct any rituals, rites, services, etc. that they want.
But when they say they are Roman Catholic Priests and make like they are conducting mass then there is a real problem because they are not RC Priests.
And it is problematic for anyone to defend them. Calling it being “open minded” or “mature in faith” or “understanding their point of view” is still denying reality and perpetuating their leading people astray.
People attend their services and think they are satisfying their Sunday Obligation. But they are being lied to and deceived by these women and this organization.
