When all the cars are electric, how are we going to dispose of all those batteries?

Bury them I guess. At least it’s one solution to reducing carbon emissions.
All these protests but I don’t really hear of any solutions apart from silly things like ride my bike to work or use less electricity.
If they were serious about it they would have every home solar powered, off the grid.
If Al Gore was serious about it he wouldn’t be buying properties on the beach like he does.
All this stuff diverts people from realizing the major issues in todays world

Oops I accidentally voted wrong on my poll but it’s fairly even.
I bet that the people that don’t believe in man made climate change are over 40 years old

Why would you say that?
Because we weren’t indoctrinated into believing it?
Because we were being warned of an imminent ice age?
Because we were told human population would destroy the planet before the turn of the century?

You’re probably right. We’ve seen this all before and numerous times. It is hard to know which (political) science consensus to believe.

Do you know how many countries experienced the protests so far. The Holy Spirit works on God’s time, not ours, or what is convenient to make a point.
I expect the Holy Spirit is behind Earth Day, not a day of protesting for increased govt socialism

Old enough to remember the climate decades ago, compare to today, and note the differences…or lack thereof.

Also old enough to remember the global cooling crisis, followed by global warming, followed by a generic term that doesn’t need to change no matter the outcome.

No crisis, really. It’s about power and money.

There are certainly specific pollution scenarios that need to be addressed. But positing global climate crisis as a direct result of said scenarios is a bridge too far.

Where is your proof?
When I said “I expect” I indicated it was my opinion

It’s a day focused on the environment and it is celebrated globally, but it’s used to educate and address a myriad of environmental topics, it’s not single issue. I’d say it’s apolitical considering it’s continued growth since 1970.

I think it’s brought a lot of constructive focus and education on local environmental issues. Seems like something the Holy Spirit would be enabling.

I stand with our Pope, Look after the environment. This is a protest not just in one country, I am not in the states. In my country the effects of climate change are obvious and devastating. It is not all man made, it is not all natural. We need to do what we can.

The Holy Spirit guides the Church. The Holy Spirit would surely guide our custodianship of the earth.

And here, in one sentence, is the actual goal of the climate change political movement: statist socialism.
The charge of “socialism” has been so over-used so as to deprive it of all its meaning.
You mean like the way Dems charge practically every Trump supporter as racist?

Is every Democrat promoting the end of capitalism?
The difference is when Democrats accuse Republicans, it’s flat out false. There is more racism, which is no less than identity politics and intersectionality, in the progressive movement. That doesn’t mean all progressives are racist

“Identity politics”. “Intersectionality”. Why do people think explaining a well-known term with a couple of undefined and confusing terms is doing anything but muddying the waters?

Defending the indefensible? I certainly would never defend white supremacy, which itself is a form of identity politics and intersectionality. I think all of it should be condemned. Do you agree?

That post was directed at Leaf’s statement that the charge of socialism is so overused that it has lost its meaning. And in much the same vein, the way that practically every Democrat has tossed the word racism around, it too has lost all of its meaning.

I understand.
The Difference is almost nobody calls themselves racist, but there are a good many politicians that call themselves socialist.

I know what white supremacy means. I have only a wikipedia definition of intersectionality, and I can’t say as how it relates to white supremacy. Identity politics is a little clearer in how it would relate to white supremacy and I can see how white supremacy would be a special case of indentity politics. But what is your point, and how does it relate to “Worldwide climate change protests”?
