Minnie Riperton is Maya Rudolph’s mom (from SNL) She died very young, when Maya was just a little girl.
And she had an incredible multi-octave range. “Loving You” was a hit when I was sick in bed with the chicken pox, and all I had was a little AM radio to stave off boredom. I have fond memories of the song, but then I might have been delirious with fever. Birds were chirping all way the through it, as I recall.

“Having My Baby” - by Paul Anka

“Havin’ ma bay-bay. Whut a lovely way of saying’ how much ya love me.
Havin’ ma bay-bay. Whut a lovely way of sayin’ yer thinkin’of me”.

Probably did more to promote high school pregnancy than making cars with back seats!
Well, he did have about a zillion children of his own 😛

I have to nominate 1971’'s Timothy by The Bouys.

The music for the song is dreadful so I won’t post a link.

The song is about three miners trapped in a cave in.

When the rescuers find them there are only two.

I couldn’t resist the youtube search…,.
that was absolutely hilarious.
And yeah REALLY BAD

I just listened to it. Now I’m sure I’ve heard everything now.

The most horrifying song I ever heard, I only listened to it for 2 seconds and it literally gave me a headache and haunted my mind for a few days: “Crazy Bus” from some video game. It is hard to believe listening to 2 seconds of anything can have such an effect, but it was the kind of thing that drills into your brain and drives you insane. Maybe listening to it again I’d find it wasn’t so bad after all, but I refuse to, given how the first time turned out.

The most outrageous shut-off-the-radio song was “Same Love” by Mackelmore. Propaganda is what it is.

:rotfl: The one that drives me over the edge is “Lord of the Dance”. I always get the urge to rip out the page from every songbook in the church when I hear it. Songwriter reference is “Shaker Song”.
It gets worse. The man who wrote the lyrics was inspired whilst gazing upon a pagan idol of Shiva, the Destroyer of Worlds.

Oh dear…I actually quite enjoy that song…purchased it and everything… 🙂
Well, it was a hit record, and it got a lot of airplay on the radio for a while, so you’re not alone :).

Maybe I’m just jealous. I had a prehistoric Casio keyboard with the very same preset rhythm that they used throughout that tune, but I never thought to build a song around it.

Creed’s “Arms Wide Open” or whatever the heck it was called. Ick! Yuck!

this is the one that immediately popped into my mind

Pakistani techno. Worst. Music. Ever.

I know the thread is called worst song, not worst genre; but it all sounds the same to me so it might as well be one song. It’s just aaawwwwwwwwfffuulllll…

And I’m voting again for “Kars for Kids”.

Yeah. I did that.

OH no, this is the third song on this list that I like. 😊

I must have bad taste.

BUT: in context the first time I heard this I was pregnant with my first baby, so I found the lyrics very touching.

“Fascination” by Human League. They keep playing the out-of-tune riff over and over. It’s like scraping fingernails on a chalkboard.

The Pina Colada song. It puts the re in redundant. 👍
Hey whoa, whoa that’s a great song!

If you want to hear a redundant and annoying song, listen to “Get Lucky” by Daft Punk. Literally five minutes of “I’m up all night to get lucky, I’m up all night to get lucky.” Over and over and over…:banghead:

Anything by Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne. Immoral lyrics aside, these people cant write a rhyme to save their lives. “I dont duck nobody but tape, that was a set-up for a punchline on duct tape.” Um, “rhyming” the same word doesnt count and people write songs about duct tape, really? Even sadder are the people who genuinely enjoy this music. 😊

Insert “I dont always make sense, but when I do, I dont” meme here.

Yeah Anaconda probably takes the award for thbe worst song I’ve ever heard. Just the melody itself is awful. And her voice… shudders

I cannot understand why it was on the radio so much here.

The cheesiest song I can think of is “Total Eclipse of the Heart” by Bonnie Tyler. It’s so bad that it’s good though, and I can’t go to karaoke without singing it.

Turn around, Bright Eyes.
