Worst Super Bowl ever

I thought that was pretty funny - the big coast teams and cruddy ratings. I haven’t seen any final ratings but would love to know what LA did. Everything we’ve read here in the STL indicates that LA is pretty ambivalent about having a team and of course, we find that hilarious.

It’s amazing how popular it is with teens now. I’m Italian American, so my uncles were always into soccer and following Italian teams like Juventus and Lazio.

My sons are crazy about it, there’s a game on almost every day, kids at the HS follow it too.

I thought it was a good game if only because the two teams were (it seemed to me at least) evenly matched. When it’s one of those blow out Super Bowls there’s no suspense or reason to watch. And I didn’t think the halftime show was so bad; I mean, when was the Super Bowl halftime show anything other than fluff?

Saint Fans throwing an entertaining state-wide tantrum.
Years of symbolic flag related “controversy”
Commercials were just regular commercials with big name actors in it. They paid stars to be in them instead of writers to create them.
For me, no one will hold a candle to Lady Gaga’s halftime show with all the drones in the sky and death defying jumps. Not saying I require that to be entertained, but it’s a hard act to follow.

But is the worst superbowl ever symptomatic of where we are right now? Did we actually just get the superbowl we deserve? 😆

All good points, and I am a huge Lady Gaga fan. What a voice!

There is a growing interest in the British Premier League football in the US.

The prolife themes in the xbox/Microsoft ad were great too

IDK, I thought the game was fine. It was close enough where I was able to stay engaged with it all the way to the end.

Sure beats the mid 90’s and watching the 49’s or Cowboys having it over by halftime.

I skipped the Super Bowl of the third straight year, despite being a big football fan. Mostly, I just can’t stand the unrelenting hype of the game, the commercials, the halftime, everything. This year, going into the final four teams, I decided I’d break my boycott if it was Chiefs/Rams. I just had no interest in seeing the Patriots (IMO dynasties are boring unless they are your home team) or the Saints (bounty cheaters) in the Super Bowl.

I have to say that seeing the Saints get jobbed in the semis was a highlight of the playoffs. It couldn’t have happened to a more deserving team! 😆

Pathetic. Let’s move two teams to a city that doesn’t care about football: brilliant!

At least those 49er-Cowboy games had some offense and some defense.
That Pat-Ram contest was super boring.

A 3-0 halftime score at the super bowl has to be the worst thing ever.
