Would Holy Mary wear a swimsuit?

If was okay for my mother here on earth to wear a swimsuit when she took us kids to the swimming pool on a hot afternoon, I don’t see any reason why our Mother in Heaven couldn’t do the same. There is nothing intrinsically wrong or sinful about wearing a bathing suit.

I myself would never dream of going out in public in a thong bikini - not so much because of modesty but because they don’t make them in my size! 😛

Keep in mind the puritanical country we are in concerning speedo’s.

That being said, even if Jesus wouldn’t wear speedo’s, what’s wrong with Him wearing swimming trunks? I mean, He wore a robe throughout His life. Does that mean he wouldn’t wear jeans today?

Black Jaque:
I always thought that modesty is related to moderation, that is to say, not overboard in either direction.
My understanding is that modesty is annexed as part of the virtue of temperance. So to not go overboard in the opposite direction would not be an exercise of that part of the virtue of temperance called modesty but rather an exercise in the virtue of courage (also called fortitude) – there are four cardinal virtues: temperance, courage (or fortitude), justice, and prudence.

Not much is said about what Jesus wore on what occasions. The Bible is more intense on overdoing clothes, hair and jewelry than on nudity.

What if you were to wear bathers (not the two peice) And wore board shorts and bather top, thats the best I can do.

Is that modest enough?
