Would more Protestants become Catholic if it were not for Mary?

The RCC is the ONLY faith that has not drifted in faith and morals. All others have been caught up in the tide of secularism. The only people saying the RCC is drifting with regards to faith and morals is the media.

Correction…the Magisterium…not the papacy.
The problem with tradition there are many and they can not be back up with Scripture.

The Church has not cracked down on its members that gives lip service or do not support the Church’s position on faith and morals ie abortio, homosexual marriage. There are politicians and others that talk out of both sides of their mouths and yet they are not called out. There are Nuns that are calling for the Church to ordain women. This gives the impression of the drifting.

There are two kinds of tradition. Capital T and small t. Small t traditions can change (no meat on Friday). So to change small t traditions is not drifting.

The Church’s teachings on faith and morals do not change. Perhaps dissident Catholics are not treated harshly because we hope they will change their minds, with the help of the grace of the Lord. There is plenty said about how wrong they are about their dissident views.

Secular newspapers usually critique the Church and say why doesn’t the Catholic Church get with modern times and allow birth control, same sex marriage, etc. The Church will never back down on speaking the truth.

I’m just curious as to how you envision this “cracking down” happening? Should they bar these people from coming to church? Should they attack them in the media?

I doubt very much that is the only or even major reason preventing many Protestants from becoming Catholic. There are several other important differences between your religion and theirs: the infallibility of the Pope, the Church hierarchy, the Real Presence in the Eucharist, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, the belief in Purgatory, justification by faith, and so on. Nonetheless, some Protestants do convert to Catholicism.

I understand what you are saying here, but the Magisterium/teachings of the RCC have not drifted. The RCC stands ALONE because they are the only ones that have not altered teachings with regards to faith and morals.

By denying them Holy Communion unti they repent, otherwise they could go to church but not partake in the Sacraments.

Are you suggesting tackling them on the way to communion? Who is to be the judge of this repenting?

The Church is for the sinner…not the perfect. So, no…the CC do not say do not come to church…the CC asks that they refrain from receiving communion so as not to profane the Eucharist.

We, on the other hand…pray for their enlightenment and and to go to confession so as to receive the Eucharist again.
