Hi Karen,

I can relate with you but you know in my experience once I decided to embace my “cross” the cross has become so light and easy. God has completely taken off the burden from the yoke. 🙂

I guess we just need to persevere and trust in the Lord. You know - let go and let God - as St. Therese used to do.

Next Monday, it will 25 yrs to the same spouse and we are renewing our vows at the morning mass. I praise and thank God daily for the gift of my loving mate.I only wish the same partner for my sons.

Yes, I would…but…I really wish we would have not spent our earlier married years being kind of Godless fools. It has taken me many years to mature and re-explore our faith, now I just wish he would come along with me.
 
Yes,definitely! I prayed for years asking Our Lady to intercede for me and ask God to send me a good Catholic man to be my husband. We have been married for 50 happy years and I thank God for answering my prayers! The power of prayer is wonderful! I believe good marraiges are made in heaven. :yup: Yup.
 
If I had another lifetime to live I would live it differently and God probably would have led me down a different path towards being a priest or marrying a woman who shares my faith and is more generously open to children.

That being said, I love my wife and child and hope and pray for her salvation. In a strange way, through her questions and my desire to share the Catholic faith in our family, I believe she has inadvertantly caused my faith and love in Jesus to increase and may have caused me to strive to be more prepared, vigilant, and courageous as a father than I would have been without her.

It’s wonderful how God keeps giving me another chance to be holy.

YES!!!

No words can begin to describe how much I love my wife. I am the successful man I am today because of her. Her unconditional love and support for me, as well as her incredible tolerance of all of my bad habits and quirks, have added up to her being the greatest wife that a man could ever want.

And in addition to that, she is still as beautiful as she has ever been! Fifteen years this September, and I do not think that she has aged a day!!! :yup:
