Would you say you are 'high' or 'low' maintenance?

*I want to try one! lol What do you mean flavors? I have seen fruit versions on menus…are they made with juices? *
Bianco, Dry, Rosso and Rosato are the basic “colours” or flavours of Martini. There might be more, but I haven’t seen any. Many people like mixed drinks with Martini, but I think it’s best on the rocks with a slice of lemon or orange or limonette… or an olive. In fact, that tiny little exotic miniature onion (whatever be its name… as far as I know, it grows in Israel) was good as well. Rosato with a slice of orange is very good. Rosso 50/50 with dry was good, but that’s a rather manly taste.

Thanks chev. :tiphat: I don’t know if I’d like the onion. I will have to experiment closer to holiday time. 🙂

I’ve recently discovered lemon-basil martinis:

3 parts vodka to 1 part limoncello shaken with some muddled (smashed up) basil and ice, served with everything but the ice. They’re fantastic! Purists would not call them martinis.🙂

Hey, this sounds familiar…is this like a …oh what’s the drink that begins with a ‘‘m’’ that is very popular? Mogito…that’s not it, lol…I can’t think of the name, but my sister loves those…is that a type of martini, then? This sounds yummy, masha…I don’t drink much, occasional glass of wine…will I have a massive hangover the next day? 😛

Do you mean a Mojito? It’s not a type of martini but they’re amazing: white rum, lime, sugar (or “simple syrup”) and mint. I could drink them all the time in summer. Neither the mojito or the martini should knock you out - even if you’re a lightweight. I’m Ukrainian, and I can drink a lot without feeling it - not that I’m a huge drinker 🙂 But I have very “lightweight” friends who can happily down a couple of these.

On the maintenance question again, I asked my husband last night why he thought I was low maintenance and he said its because I’m not jealous or clingy or whiny or needy, because I don’t spend money, and because I can look good doing hard work ;). He thinks I’m the lowest maintenance girl in the world…I thought that was pretty cool.🙂

I’m very low maintenance. I only have one vice - books. I love to read and read a lot, so I have lots of books here, there and everywhere.

Aw, how sweet of your hubby to say this about you! I am not whiny or needy…jealous or anything of that nature…but I used to spend too much. 😊 I’m so much better from the help of a husband who wanted to stop enabling me in being high maintenance. 😛

I think a good husband is the best remedy to a bit of high maintenance 🙂 Your hubby sounds like a sweet guy!

I meant to answer this…YES…A MOJITO. 😃 It looks so glamorous…lol Ok, it is not part of the martini family…I think I might like this. How do you make the simple syrup? :ehh: Like sugar and water, over heat?

*😃

I thought this could be a fun thread…
My dh thinks I’m both. lol When we were dating, he thought I was high maintenance.😊 (He wanted to marry me, I couldn’t have been that* bad) lol 😉

As I grow older though, I find myself gravitating towards simplifying life!

Has anyone ever indicated to you one way or the other…that you’re high or low maintenance? Be honest. 😉
I don’t need to wait for anyone else’s opinion. I know I am WAY high-maintenance. 😃

It depends on how much is depending on me in the family. I’ll happily take on most of the family work provided I get a lot of love, affection, respect, and appreciation in return! But I expect a LOT of those things 😃 On the flip side, if I’m not doing more than my share of the work then I’ll be very low-maintenance, and actually put a lot of that spare energy into maintaining DH.

On the other hand, I don’t need gifts, dates, or traditional romantic gestures to feel cared for, ever. DH really appreciates this, since he’s horrid at those things. I mean, he’s really, really bad at them. Lousy. Wretched. LOL. But he is also incredibly patient, and while he’s wretched at gestures, he is wonderful at the day-to-day things that keep me going.
