Most orthodox Catholics do not find it acceptable. Of course, some may have a problem with me wearing a rosary, but I wear it under two shirts, never displaying it to the public.

The Yin Yang, is Buddhist.
 
Your word is good enough for me. 😀 I don’t know a lot about eastern religions.
 
I always played team sports. I never played combat sports or took martial arts.

The football/wrestling coach always was on my back to wrestle, but basketball was always my winter sport. I wish I did take a martial art when I was young.
 
I am a combat sports trained killer type woman. 😎

They were traditional in the extreme and had a very interesting motto that was straight from the Bible. And huge art depicting Japanese dragons. I am on the fence about the dragon thing atm.

In my country I can remember all the grandmothers using a necklace with a cross and/or a rosary in their pocket…

And the vast majority of evil sects go along these exact same lines…One has only to look at the most aberrant sects to verify how “harmoniously” they blend all sorts of “philosophy” with naturalistic “pantheism” and how quickly the whole thing degenerates into euphemistic satanism.

There is a very fine line to inter-religious dialogue, much more than meets the eye.

@Roseeurekacross regarding eastern religions the rabbit hole does go much deeper…
 
Are dragons part of the religion? I really don’t know anything about Asian religions or art for that matter.

I think women involved with martial arts or combat sports are pretty cool. I am friends with a lady who decided to take up kick boxing when she turned 50. She has been doing it for a couple of years. The change in her personality has been remarkable. She is so much more relaxed, poised, and confident. I’ve enjoyed watching her bloom.

I’d pity the guy who would try to mug her. She would teach him a very valuable lesson about keeping his hands to himself.

I am simply pre-empting the “work of the devil” shriekers.
They are neutral objects made of metal not bewitched, cursed elements smelling of brimstone.

There is nothing “to prove” apart from that.

But then I am a glass half full person - innocent until proven guilty.
Its the better, more healthy, yin yang way to go through life than the reverse 🤣.

You appear to have little actual experience of Asian culture outside of books and the distorted views of the “burn down the pagan altars” types.

Evils sects often use ancient texts.
Does that mean all religions that use ancient texts are of the devil also?

Like Geocentrism or the four elements (earth air fire and water in the West ) yin-yang thinking was simply part of the science of ancient times in the East.

Its no more “Buddhist” than Geocentrism or soul talk is “Catholic”.

In fact if any Asian religion could lay claim to the word/concept it would be Daoism not Buddhism.
Buddhism comes from India not China.

Where on earth did you get the idea it is Buddhist from?

I’m sorry but a lot of posters here have an erroneous understanding of yin yang.
If anyone wants to know more about it I’m happy to explain.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with it as long as you don’t associate any religion with it.

One day it may even be incorporated into Catholic theology just like Aristotelian philosophy.

BTW both Tai Chi and yinyang have little to do with Japan.

what else you got besides tai chi and asian relatives and work in china, or malaysia. did you have electricity or running water in malaysia
