I Ching involves divination. It’s not an ok activity according to our Catholic values.
Yes it permeates chinese civilisation and society, yes the fruits it bore included occult doctrines.
Yes it is a book of oracles. And the book of wisdom.
What’s an oracle? What was an oracle when the I Ching was written.
What’s the relationship between the yin yang symbol and this book of oracles.
And more importantly. What fruits of Christianity, of the Church, of bringing God to the People has this philosophy seen bring fruit in Chinese civilisation over Millenia.
Whose wisdom? What wisdom is the source of this book.
It’s no good discussing these things from the modern perspective. We must look to the roots and origins. We can’t say, oh well I engage in tai chi, therefore it’s ok, or I burn incense while using chopsticks therefore it’s ok, or rub the belly of this or that idol, it’s ok.
In Australia, where you are, ratio, look in most every tatslotto shop or agency. What do you see in the shop
