I emailed my local Y (the main office, not the branch I go to) and tried to get them to look into Soul Core. They said they would, but nothing has come of it so far.

That looks very interesting, I would be totally down with trying it…but I just checked the link you provided and there is nothing in or near my town…too bad…

You can do it from home. You can also try getting a local gym rat from your parish to learn how to lead it and run a class at your parish. 🙂

Personally, I would love to see Catholic parishes offer Soul Core and/or Pietra Fitness in their parish halls.

You could try ballet stretches.
I think the New York City Ballet has a DVD on basic ballet where they demonstrate the floor stretches and the barre exercizes which is a lot of stretch and balance and muscle control and strengthening.

You might also want to look into the Belly Dance DVDs by Neena and Veena --belly dance teaches you to isolate muscle groups and helps with coordination and muscle control.
