It happens to all of us. We are listening to a religious broadcast which we think is Catholic, when all of a sudden you hear … … Are you Saved? … Do you have a personal relationship with Jesus? … the Word of God Alone … Sola Scriptura … Marian apparitions are demonic — Religious icons are demonic — Family Radio — The preacher spends two hours talking about two verses in the Bible.

…Your Salvation is secure. Once saved, always saved.

You should tune in to my local Catholic station during one of their pledge drives if you think that’s unique to Protestant radio… :o
Ah…I am not sure we have a Catholic radio station in Los Angeles County
😦

OK, how about not ending the Our Father (which they will probably call The Lord’s Prayer) at the words “…and deliver us from evil. Amen.”😃

And send us lots of your money:rolleyes:
If you happen to be listening to pentecostal radio it is,

“I just got a vision from the LORD GOD HIMSELF! God came down upon me and told me that everyone, yes everyone, has to send me $300. Now folks, this is GOD HIMSELF TALKING! Take out your checkbooks and give in to the Holy Spirit! Can you FEEL the HOLY SPIRIT!!! PRAISE THE LORD!!! Yes, get out those checkbooks and GOD WILL HEAL YOU of your sins!!! Feel the POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT!!!”

Heh… now that’s closer to reality. But, our Protestant station wouldn’t go for ‘scripted prayer.’

How 'bout this: You know you’re listening to Protestant radio when the morning show hosts bash the Catholic Church.

Which happens more times than not. We have a low-power station in our area (NW Ohio) that has been bashing our Church. If it was’t so bigoted, it would be funny. Of course, with the priest abuses and all, it just makes us an easier target. Have you ever tried to explain the abuses by priests to a Protestant? I have, and it’s not easy.

NW Ohio? Are you west of Toledo? If you’re not too far away, you could probably pull in our Catholic station, WDEO 990 from Ann Arbor.

Our Protestant FM station is a powerhouse with a relatively large audience (in comparison to other religious media outlets). I’ve only heard questionable statements from one of the morning drive-time hosts, and I don’t even remember what he said. He sounded more ignorant than hateful.

I should give this station some credit, as it is a consistently strong voice for Christian morality in our community, and the music selection (what little of it they play) is decent. From what I understand, they don’t tolerate much in the way of anti-Catholicism there, either. Three people who used to work at the station have converted or reverted to Catholicism (and one of them was instrumental in my own conversion)! 👍

My Sirius Satellite radio is a blessing - EWTN radio, all the time, everywhere!

… they talk about the lost souls from the radio station who converted to Catholicism.

… they claim to be a non denominational Bible Preaching station … and all they do is bash the Catholic faith.

Yes, I am. We are Montpelier, Oh, fifty miles straight west of Toledo, along the turnpike. And I do listen to the Ann Arbor station once in a while. A very good station. I am half-way between Toledo and Ft Wayne Ind, so we don’t have much of a choice in radio stations, so I listen to WEWN on shortwave most of the time.

Could we bash Protestantism on air just once? Once? This isn’t fair. 😦

there are no commercials, but breaks every ten minutes asking for donations to the Moody Bible Institute.

Nope… I haven’t encountered that. I’m a Sirius Satellite listener and never have the kinds of situations mentioned here. Sirius now has TWO Catholic channels EWTN-160 and The Catholic Channel-159). 👍
