From your source:scripturecatholic.com/evolution.html Here is another Catholic source about evolution and the age of the earth
The key phrase is bolded. We don’t have to interpret Genesis literally.Evolutionists teach that the earth is millions of years old. However, if the Scriptures are interpreted literally, they teach that the earth is only about 12,000 – 14,000 years old.
O Grand Inquisitor, please don’t put me in the comfy chair – anything but the comfy chair!we hav vays of making you talk.
how fortunate that the bible never once contradicts itself by giving inconsistent factual accounts, right? It doesn’t need to be scientific. The Bible lays it out.
So once again, you admit that there is no scientific evidence that would oppose evolution. Once again, good for you!It doesn’t need to be scientific. The Bible lays it out.
Are you saying the Bible is wronghow fortunate that the bible never once contradicts itself by giving inconsistent factual accounts, right?
Wirraway and Orogeny, since I was the first one interrogated, I think it is fair to ask of the interrogator the same questions he asked me. And, interestingly, although we are quite opposite in our understanding and acceptance of science, we answer the same on all three questions: (1) We are both Catholic; (2) we both have read the Bible cover-to-cover, and (3) neither of us rejects God. That’s a good thing!if he interrogates others, he should be willing to respond to the same.
We don’t have to interpret Genesis literally.
Still no scientific argument against either evolution or the age of the earth.
Peace
Tim
I’m asking you, sir, if the bible has factual contradictions. you’ve routinely evaded answering questions I’ve asked, please don’t evade this one.Are you saying the Bible is wrong
He evades it because he fears the bright light of truth that will illuminate his prevarication.I’m asking you, sir, if the bible has factual contradictions. you’ve routinely evaded answering questions I’ve asked, please don’t evade this one.
Human evolution from a Catholic Source?
The point isn’t what is fair and what is not. I’m just tired of Catholics questioning the catholicity of other Catholics. I include Toby in this discussion. He shouldn’t do it to begin with.Wirraway and Orogeny, since I was the first one interrogated, I think it is fair to ask of the interrogator the same questions he asked me. And, interestingly, although we are quite opposite in our understanding and acceptance of science, we answer the same on all three questions: (1) We are both Catholic; (2) we both have read the Bible cover-to-cover, and (3) neither of us rejects God. That’s a good thing!
