Isn’t the Bible from which I quoted enough to disprove the theory of evolution??
Please sir, I don’t understand. Can you show me how Genesis 1 disproves evolution? All you did was copy out the text – you didn’t show me how it disproves evolution.

Why do you draw this conclusion? Can you justify it with facts?

Man is the only thing created in God’s image. Again I can draw a number of things from these references from the Catechism (a non fiction, factual book on the Catholic faith). Give me a while to prepare factual evidence stated in the Catechism. Do you reject the Catechism?

Toby, I googled “evolution and the bible” and came across a website with some interesting articles. Here’s one you might find helpful, on how the bible does not contradict science:

ncseweb.org/religion/how-do-i-read-bible-let-me-count-ways

“Opponents of evolution often claim that their opposition is based upon a lack of supporting scientific evidence. In reality, their objection stems from a more basic issue: how to read the bible and interpret the view of nature it projects…”

I urge you to read the article – I hope you find it helpful!

Not good. If you go to Orogeny’s post and click on his name and select “View Public Profile” you will get this page. On reading that page you will see that Orogeny is Catholic. You have just set a wonderful example of Christian love by insulting a fellow member of your own religion. A great example to all of us non-Christians who read your posts. Please consider what you post more carefully in future.

So where is the solid dome in the sky? The one described in Genesis 1:6-8; the one in which the Sun and Moon are set, in Genesis 1:17.

rossum
Well maybe not a solid dome.

Catechism references 31, 355, 374, 380 designate that Man is created in God’s image. No where in the Catechism that creatures such as bugs, whales, birds, apes is given that distinction. Because man is created in God’s image and likeness, he is the ONLY one willed to server and love his creator. If ape was created in God’s IMAGE AND Likeness wouldn’t God have willed ape to love and serve him?? All creatures bear resemblence to God. But none but man are created in image and likeness. Genesis alone proves no creature before animal and man, so how can ape and man share common ancestor? They share God

What does God look like? Does He look human?

704 of the CCC
“God fashioned man with his own hands[that is, the Son of the Holy Spirit] and impressed with his own form on the flesh he had fashioned, in such a way that was visible might bear the divine form”

another proof that apes and man didn’t have a common ancestor.

Sources uses CCC 704 and St. Irenaeus, Dem ap. 11:5 Ch 62, 48-49

so you assert that the Pope is wrong in his statement on evolution?

and please don’t refer to me as sir or Mr. My name is Toby or use my nickname. which is Tobinator

maybe the Haydock Bible Commentary will help understand God’s creation as stated in Genesis and God’s image

Please call me Toby or Tobinator. Tobin is not my name. What does God look like his image is us. He is a spiritual being, therefore has no physical image. We are in his image spiritually.

now look, my good fellow, its germane to this discussion that you address challenges to points you made or admit they’re meritless.

so, who keeps telling you that men evolved from apes, and why do you assert that a vaccine from a atheist hospital is less potent than one from a Catholic one?

Ok, Toby. Sorry about the name thing.

If God has no physical image, could it be possible that “in His image” refers to our souls? If so, what difference does our physical appearance make?

Peace

Tim
