Your favorite saint?

Saint John the Apostle
Saint John (Don) Bosco
Saint Peter the Apostle
Saint Joseph, spouse of the Blessed Virgin
 
The Blessed Mother (is she really considered a Saint or is she actually above the saints?)
and St. Therese Liseux (sp). I haven’t prayed to St. Francis of Assisi but I admire him a lot, since I love animals so much. I’m dealing with an eye issue at the moment which my doctor says isn’t very serious, but still, I plan to pray to St. Clare of Assisi for this since one of her patronages is eye problems.

Mary is Queen of Heaven and Earth.

All the Old Testament Kings appointed their mothers as queen, not their wives. Jesus is the fulfillment of these Old Testament figures, and as the King of kings and Lord of lords, he has appointed his mother as his queen.

A great sign appeared in the sky, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. (Revelation 12:1)

Mary wears a crown in heaven. Mary reigns with Christ as his Queen and so rules the angels and the saints in heaven as their queen and sovereign. Mary is second only to Jesus himself.

She is a saint. As Jesus’ Queen she is the Preeminent Saint, and the Premier (first) Apostle.

I think favorite saints are like favorite bible verses and favorite hymns; you favorite is the one you need right now.

I do have a special devotion to St. Michael the Archangel because of something that happened several years ago. A man attempted to mug me.

Mind you, I’m not at all big and strong, I’m more of a skinny little scrapper. But for whatever reason, even though the mugger showed a knife, something made me fight back. And as I was fighting, I was screaming the St. Michael prayer! The mugger continued to struggle with me, despite his being armed, and I kept punching and kicking like a madwoman. I connected several times, and nearly broke my hand I was punching him so hard. He started to try to escape when I got to “and cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits…” but I was so carried with the battle that I started chasing him! As he took off down the street I yelled after him, “And don’t you dare come back, because if I don’t kick your —, St. Michael will!” Afterward, when I realized what I had done, I was literally shaking in my boots. Mind you, I don’t know if St. Michael actually interceded, or if the mugger just thought I was plain crazy, or a combination of both, but ever since that time I have a real devotion to this great Archangel.

I also have a great devotion to St. Ignatius of Loyola. Since I started doing the 19th annotation of the Spiritual Exercises, I find myself more confident, and more knowledgeable about my faith.

St Monica-Every Mother’s iconic saint for the conversion of her children.St Augustine the son of St Monica.
 
Mine will always be St. Joan of Arc. I even did a monologue as her in High School.

Is Charlemagne a saint? Same question for Constantine the Great.
