It used to be called the Sanctuary of our Sorrowful Mother.
Such a beautiful place for prayer and contemplation.
Just a bit further south is Mount Angel Abbey- a Benedictine monastery and seminary in Mount Angel, Oregon.

Yes!, according to their webpage. I have not been down for a few years.
If you’re a classical music fan they have a Bach festival in the summer.
I was down in Vancouver for a week and drove in twice just to soak up the peace of the grounds, experience compline, and walk the stations of the cross.
I love the idea of staying at abbeys or monastery guesthouses in lieu of hotelling it; it allows the opportunity of getting to spend more time in faith filled places and supporting our religious orders financially.

There are a lot of Catholic options, if one goes looking.
May God bless you!

It is very simple, yet still draws the Christian’s mind towards God.

Another beautiful, yet at the same time very simple Church: Sacred Heart Church in the Diocese of Auckland (New Zealand):

Thank you for this virtual pilgrimage of Catholic churches world wide. At a time when we can’t even go to worship at our local church this is inspiring for the artistic beauty alone. But it also gives a better emphasis to the Church’s universality knowing that I could step into any one of these churches to worship. There is so much to look at in this thread on favourite churches that I will need to return again and again.

I hope this reproduces as I’m tech-challenged. This is a stained glass window from the Catholic Church in St. Mere Eglise, France, the first town in France liberated on June 6, 1944. It depicts American paratroopers landing. 1 such soldier got caught on the steeple and played dead for hours as the German soldiers were in the town. The church and the incident in question appear in the film “the Longest Day,” where the soldier is played by Red Buttons.
