We are the Lay Brothers of Padre Pio. We began our lay order wearing a black shirt and crucifix. Since we were not approachable we decided to wear a religious habit. Our work has increase since making this change. Our mission is for the salvation of souls. Padre Pio always said people need to talk. What we found is that people are not comfortable talking to a lay brother wearing a shirt ands crucifix.
