I doubt anyone thinks of al Qaeda as a secular organisation. Unlike the Iraqi Baath Party. It was the invasion of Iraq that turned it into a playground for religious extremists. Saddam tended to murder them since they were inclined to murder him.

The war on terror did not lead to the invasion of Iraq. The invasion of Iraq has strengthened terrorism not weakened it.

👍 I could not agree more. Anyone who thinks the threat of terrorism is diminished by the invasion of Iraq has got their head in the sand.
 
Well, I am some tired of listening that the Vatican is dhirmi, and if it happens, well we will have to do mesaures, in 844 Rome was sacked by muslims, and Saint Peter profanated, and 250 later the first crusade was preached, the church is slow but secure in their movements.

The 1st Crusade had nothing to do with the sack of Rome, right? It was preached to help the Eastern Church whose cities were under attack by Moslems.

Well, Giliam, but the conquer of the current Turkey wasn´t a objective in the crusade but Jerusalem, and well the conquer of Sicilia in 827, and later the razzias in 880 in Nice and in the alps were a demonstration that muslims were strong.
The year of the conquer of Jerusalem in 1099, was also the conquer of Valencia, my city, but later in 1102 was left by christians until the conquer of James I king of Aragon in 1238. We were muslims 527 years, a great amount.
 
If that were to happen…I would drop everything, fly to Rome and defend her against these dasterdly attacks…I will proudly die in defense of the Holy Father and Roman Catholicism.

If today you hear his voice harden not your hearts. You can almost bet, that if the Vatican were attacked you get a lot of resistance from Italy and other nations who have good relations with the Vatican.

Never doubted it. The Islamofascists want the map of Europe to look as it did in the times of the Islamic kingdom of Al Andalus, and to undo the effects of the battles of tiurs and Lepanto. They were stopped on the way to Vienna, and want a do-over on that as well. Attacking the heart of Christendom would be a nice start for them.

I don’t believe most Muslims are extremists who seek to conquer the world through violence, BTW. It would be nice if we heard from them more often.

This isn’t the first time these jagoffs have made these kinds of threats.

I would like to believe that there are enough nations in this world who would rise up should the Vatican be attacked by Islamo-whackos.

Polish troops defeated the invading Muslim Turks at Vienna centuries ago.
Poland survived the Nazis and Communists.

I am sure Poland would fight again.

Why did you post 5 different links to the same story? Seems like a lot of extra work.

Even those quoted in your link say they can’t be sure the threat is really diminished. If history is any guide, we’ve made a host of new enemies. It’s far too early to relax our guard.

It just shows how unreliable the media is. And also how people who put their beliefs in the media are unreliable as well.

It would seem like some posters need a little more info…although my guess is there is if you were provided only one link, you’d complain there wasn’t more links, either that or you would say it was a right wing or discount the publication…so several were provided … 🙂
