I’m confused…LOL, I think? 😆
I think the reasons behind the movie are the fact that its producers thought it would make them a lot of money!
I think we ALL agree this is dead on accurate. 🙂 Rarely is this stuff about anything aside from cash.

I guess Newsweek lied, then. Did you even read the link I posted?

For the nth time, he CONSIDERED a run, PUBLICIZED it, and then DROPPED the idea claiming it was because he was concerned about his family.

Meanwhile, guess what was being rehashed and dragged out all over the news?

I did not say nor did I imply he was ever on the ticket by November.

Anyway, it’s not important with regards to the reasons behind showing the movie.
I think the reasons behind the movie are the fact that its producers thought it would make them a lot of money! Some people, and I am not one, eat up anything about the Kennedys. They don’t care what it is or whether it’s true or untrue. (I am not pointing to anyone on this forum, just people in general. Some hate the Kennedys passionately; some love them like family. I don’t feel a lot of emotion for them either way since I’m too young for them to have impacted my life directly, and, I’m not particularly interested in the movie. No one but those present know what was said, why certain actions were or were not taken, etc. We know what people claimed. Anything else is just conjecture.)
how about the reason being so we don’t forget about Mary Jo that tragic evening.
that we don’t forget that politicians try to live by a different set of rules.
by the way, there is a new book coming out called Our Mary Jo.

You have a much more altruistic view of Hollywood than I think most of us do.

A new book? I’d speculate that the movie and it’s timing might be “no coincidence” - or flip it and say the release of that book isn’t. Not a judgment, just speculating.

I agree that the true hideousness in this is that regardless of what led up to the car going over the bridge, a young woman died that night, and that in the midst of the Kennedy mystique (right or wrong, we all know it exists), she seems to be forgotten.

So the movie will be focused on Mary Jo and not Ted Kennedy ?

My guess is Ted RIP, will be the focus

With the lesson being don’t have a fling in the sand - or any place else - with a married man. When things go wrong, he will not put his paramour first.

Movie producers don’t make money off her name, and for them, money is always the bottom line.

It’s the Kennedy name that brings in the dollars. Some producers are more ethical than others, but I’ve never heard of one who wanted to throw his money away.

they Don’t plan to make money off of her name.
they are retelling the events of that night and the next day and the following weeks.

I’m cynical enough to say that I bet they won’t turn it down.

If they pull a Paul Newman and donate all the profits to charity, I prefer my crow grilled.

Do you mean this self-published Kindle book?

https://www.amazon.com/Our-Mary-Jo-Georgetta-Potoski-ebook/dp/B07466W8S8

It’s available now.

I am truly sorry Mary Jo lost her life that weekend. I would not wish that on anyone, but I don’t care to read about her life. I don’t even care to read about Kennedy’s life. Any Kennedy. The incident, maybe. I’d like to know the truth, just like I’d like to know the truth behind JFK’s assassination, but I don’t think anyone ever will.

From Chick-Fil-A? 😛
If she’s willing to eat crow, it should at least not be fast food but gourmet. 🤣 That is, if one can find a chef to prepare “gourmet crow.”
I’m pretty simplistic with my crow. No fanfare, no fancy dishes, no confit or chiffonade required. Just nicely grilled, evenly browned. Maybe a bit of crispy on the top.

Though I would like a good beer. 😆😆

yes, i believe that is the book.
i heard them discussing it the other day on the radio. it sounds interesting. i think the family wants to share their memories of Mary Jo and letters they received from around the world. i believe they started a scholarship in her memory.
i am pretty sure she was Catholic, like Ted.

When the Kennedy scion was killed flying his own plane out to Martha’s Vineyard, the person who took his place in the political lineup for Senator from New York was … Hillary Clinton.
