Now, you state this. Your initial statement made no mention of Biden. Where’s your evidence that Biden is “defending the progressive Democrats, who first developed a police culture that believes it yhas the power to violate individual rights?” Please provide your citations.
Did Biden not blame Trump for the unrest?
Where has he condemned the Portland mayor for allowing 90 days of riots in the streets? When has he criticized the mayor of Minneapolis or Seattle or Chicago?

Are you claiming that the police officer Chauvin, an agent of the Minneapolis government led by a progressive Democrat mayor, did not violate Floyd’s individual rights?

The lawlessness can be laid squarely at the feet of Dem mayors, governors and DAs. Trump is campaigning for the re-establishment of law and order by prodding the electorate to vote out those at the State and city levels who haven’t done a thing but foster lawlessness. I, for one, hope that happens so law and order is promoted at every level, not just federal in the case of those who have been negligent and culpable.
I provided cites for my claims. Back up what you said or it’s just another political statement. I actually live here in Minneapolis, so I was witness to who actually started the “lawlessness.” The very first act of destruction and arson was committed by a member of the Aryan Cowboys Nation, when he broke the AutoZone windows, spray painted “free stuff” on the walls, and then set it ablaze. (Source: https://www.startribune.com/police-...ist-trying-to-incite-floyd-rioting/571932272/)

I watched overnight as countless vehicles, mainly trucks, full of men from states like Texas and Missouri roved up and down our streets. I worked with my neighbors to block our streets and watch for these “out-of-towners” who came here only and expressly to use the protests to cover for their attack.

They came here to incite violence and commit it themselves. I posted here in previous threads, pictures of some of these men in hunting camo, armed and looking for a fight. I counted at no fewer than 11 such vehicles who passed my house alone in one night. There were 5 more with no license plates at all.

These disreputable individuals only disappeared once the National Guard arrived and shut down the highways in and out of the city, as well as the bridges. It’s no accident that of the 50+ arrests that have been made for arson, most of them are from perps from outside the city, rural Northern MN towns, and out-of-state.

I have no truck with looters and people taking advantage of other people’s suffering for their own gain. But to characterize the violence as being all on part of the Democrats and liberals is a lie. I watched the violence unfold here in Minneapolis with my own eyes. I also remember the right-leaning anti-maskers who proceeded the Floyd protests who blocked highways, spat in the faces of our doctors and nurses, and blocked ambulances. Do not tell me that only liberals or progressives are violent.

Did he? How is it relevant to your statement that “Trump did not cause the unrest.” Whether Biden has condemned it or not, he has no authority to send the DHS, the National Guard, or any other police force, does he? He does no the bully pulpit, does he? He is not the President of the United States right now, is he? Does the buck stop with Biden or with Trump?

I’m pretty sure you made the claims, which is why I said you need to back them up, as I did with citations. Your last sentence is frankly nonsensical. I haven’t made any mention of Chauvin. You did. Now, explain the connection between your statement on Floyd’s rights and whether Trump is in fact the current Commander-in-Chief of a nation that is experiencing civic unrest in multiple cities and states, besides Minneapolis?

You have provided nothing substantial in your post. The identity of the so-called “umbrella man” is pure speculation and no real findings or charges have been presented. Even the article you cited states exactly that.

Yet, here you are pointing at white supremacists with no real evidence. Par for the course regarding your claims about the events in Kenosha, as well.

Now, explain the connection between your statement on Floyd’s rights and whether Trump is in fact the current Commander-in-Chief of a nation that is experiencing civic unrest in multiple cities and states, besides Minneapolis?
You aren’t in the least suspicious that every one of the cities experiencing ongoing civil unrest are radical Democrat domains?

SO why have you not voted out the political party that has failed your community for decades - and filed lawsuits to get rid of these bad actors in the police department and de-fang the unions if they are in such control - especially as so many unions support and are rewarded by that same political party that has had control of Minneapolis for decades 🤔

That is a conundrum … especially when people keep speaking of “systemic” systems … Democrats have controlled Minnesota with few interruptions for about 80-90 years and your city of Minneapolis has had a Democratic Mayor since the 1960s not counting a couple of Independents … I would call that systemic leadership - and Failed leadership at that … And Minnesota is considered “Progressive” it would seem “progressive” is not creating any improvements in the life of the citizens like yourself and yet the failed policies and politicians are rewarded decade after decade …

I have provided more than anything you have offered, which is both a citation and my own eyewitness account. The fact is, the MPD has a warrant on the man, which means there’s enough evidence for him to be the prime suspect. All you have offered is your own unsubstantiated opinion. Where are your citations that the lawlessness is all the work of the Democrats?

That’s an inane question. No one person votes an entire government in or out of office. If “you” is meant to be plural, your question needs to be posed to other residents who’ve been here for at least a decade, since that’s the term you specified. I have been here since 2015, five years total. Before here, I have lived in Texas, PA, and NC. There has been no appreciable difference between how the governments work here and those places, except this place has been the best for public transit, parks, and clearing the roads of snow and ice.

Explain to me, after I have posted the same citation multiple times now, how exactly we as a city are supposed to “vote out” a union that is certified and protected by state law? This law is not new. And the state supreme court case that solidified that state support? Came out of Brainerd, MN, which is about as red and conservative as you can get.

But you won’t explain that. You will likely just continue to post the same unsupported claims others have that the city mayor “controls” or can “fire” the police union, despite there being clearly posted information on this very thread detailing why that is not the case.

You were the one who touted that you lived in the neighborhood where the Floyd case originated - and with no caveats on limited experience there. But yes - based upon your claiming the locale - I meant “you” in you and your fellow citizens …

I am not from Minnesota - you did not list the MSC case - nor the court case by name … what is the make up of the MSC ? - not sure the geographic location of an appealed court case matters as much as the make up of the court … for example a court case that originated in rural eastern Oregon that was heard by the 9th Circuit - that decision would probably not be a decision you would bet money on to reflect the red/conservative nature of where it originated, in fact you would expect the exact opposite to be the case.

Public transit - okay … you may love it … it is highly subsidized and does not pay pay for itself …

Snow removal … Minnesota should be good at that … Texas and North Carolina … well the differences are vast … kind of like how Portland Oregon fails every snow storm - 2 inches is a disaster. Though for the occasional once or twice each winter - that ineptness is not that big a deal - “yeah - snow day!” scream the kids. Where as eastern Oregon … they are vastly better … if they were not … they would be shut down for most of the winter … and that just does not serve the citizens who live there.

We are speaking of Democratic control at the state level for over three quarters of a century and in the City of Minneapolis for over half a century … the Unions gained their strength from that one party [Democratic] rule … and while you have only been there for 5 years - someone has been electing and re-electing that same political party - over and over and over and over and over …

What good are parks if it is not safe to go there? - who wants to invest in businesses when law and order are non existent?

If this is just 4 months of an anomaly - where normally citizens and private property are safe and secure … then perhaps the police that serve you and the union that represents them must not be doing that awful a job for the citizens …

That wasn’t the question you asked.

In these cases, the buck stops with mayors and governors.

I asked particular questions of you. You have not answered them. Why not start there?

That wasn’t the question you asked.
Excellent reminder. The question I asked was:
“Where’s your evidence that Biden is “defending the progressive Democrats, who first developed a police culture that believes it yhas the power to violate individual rights?” Please provide your citations.”

Still waiting for your citations for your claims. I backed mine up. I haven’t seen anything from you.
How is that relevant to the question you asked?
It was relevant to the questions you asked in your last post. Where you still failed to produce any evidence for your claims.
In these cases, the buck stops with mayors and governors.
Indeed. Then Trump cannot make any credible claim to re-establishing order since he has no power to do so. And Biden has even less.
I asked particular questions of you. You have not answered them. Why not start there?
You asked questions when I demanded proof of your claims. So far, this discussion has been one-way, where you make assertions, then back them up with more assertions, and then demand I answer your questions. Where’s your citations? Put up.

Not sure where you are getting that from. I encouraged you to educate yourself.

You were the one who touted that you lived in the neighborhood where the Floyd case originated - and with no caveats on limited experience there.
Because I do live here. And have lived here for the aforementioned several years. I didn’t specify because I didn’t think it was pertinent. Five years is enough time to assimilate to a given location. And certainly enough to judge the value on the return for tax dollars paid here.
I am not from Minnesota - you did not list the MSC case - nor the court case by name … what is the make up of the MSC ? - not sure the geographic location of an appealed court case matters as much as the make up of the court …
Here is an article that summarizes the case that defines the union as basically immune from any local government attempts to dissolve it.

Here is a direct link to the court case summary:

Firefighters Union Local 4725 and the union president sued the City under the Public Employment Labor Relations Act (PELRA), Minn. Stat. 197A.01-.25, alleging that in eliminating the union positions, the City engaged in unfair labor practices prohibited by PELRA. The district court granted summary judgment for the City. The court of appeals reversed, ruling that the City violated section 179A.13, subd. 2(2) by undergoing a department reorganization that resulted in the dissolution of a bargaining unit. The Supreme Court affirmed, holding that the City’s interference with the existence of an employee organization constituted a prohibited unfair labor practice.
Brainerd is a small “city” of about 13,000 that is conservative and is part of the Eighth Congressional District represented by (R) Pete Stauber, and its residents are over 60% Republican. It is squarely in Trump territory in the part of the state that almost carried it over to Trump in 2016. This is hardly a bastion of Democrat liberals running the city for decades. Its leaders tried to do exactly what Minneapolis wants to do - dissolve a city department and reform it. It was prevented from doing so by the State Supreme Court, based upon a state law.

The State legislature is split between Rs and Ds. We have a moderate Democrat government (ex-teacher and high school coach). Despite the left-leaning politics of the Twin Cities, the state overall has a very strong conservative presence, because it’s a farming/ agricultural state. Furthermore, the Cities host multiple Fortune 500 companies, including HQs for Wells Fargo to Delta Airlines to 3M.
(MN Fortune 500 companies: A list of the state's top businesses)

So, we have conservatives, leftists, independents such as myself, and even a party of people for legalizing weed. We don’t want a police-less state, we want a professional and non-racist force. We will fire Frey because he’s useless, but even if we had Mayor Mussolini from Righty-McRight Party, the law would still prevent him from firing the union.

Again incorrect. The president has power within Constitutional constraints to establish and reestablish law and order. He has jurisdiction over federal facilities regardless of state and municipal actions. The USAG has the power to hold accountable mayors governors and AGs who are depriving US citizens of their constitutional rights.

What President Trump is clearly talking about is reestablishing law and order in those Dem controlled states and cities that are letting unelected mob rule dictate the terms of behaviour to citizens. I would surmise that his preference is to see them voted out of office and replaced by individuals who respect law and order.

Ergo, Pres Trump can make a “credible claim” because as president he has SOME power to enforce law and order. However, power is not the only means to restore law and order. Reasoning with the electorate is another.

By the way, here is another instance of Minnesota politicians behaving badly regarding law and order. What is going on up there?

Then he should have done so by now. He’s had since the end of May to exercise his powers.

Whatever he is talking about, he’s not “re-established” anything. Since the governor called in the NG back in June, and again last week, the peace has been restored. Here in Minneapolis, where I am typing from my desk, there are no screams, no acrid smell of smoke, no gangs of Antifa mobsters roaming my neighborhood. So, clearly, Trump is lying if he is naming this city as lawless.
Ergo, Pres Trump can make a “credible claim” because as president he has SOME power to enforce law and order.
If I indeed grant you the given that he has such powers, then his credibility is still shot. He already HAS the power, yet there have been multiple uprisings across the nation. For months. He hasn’t stopped Portland. He didn’t shut it down here in MN, the governor did. He hasn’t done anything to stop Kenosha. He hasn’t prevented looting in NYC, Philadelphia, or even in his own backyard. The one display of power he did employ wasn’t even against the looters - it was against protesters and an Episcopal priest, on his way to his photo op.

Trump: “Vote for me for President again so I can stop the violence that has been occurring while I’ve been President!”
By the way, here is another instance of Minnesota politicians behaving badly regarding law and order. What is going on up there?
“Another instance?” Where’s your first, Harry? And what the Hades does a VLOG about a conservative, racist NISSWA, MN mayor getting arrested have to do with Minneapolis?
Source:

And how does the arrest of one person up in bum-eff-nowhere northern Minnesota equate to widespread lawlessness that only a brave President like Trump could truly handle?

I posted earlier in another thread how Mark Harris, a pastor who ran for Congressional office in NC, was caught red-handed trying to steal an election through the hired services of an operative. Then he perjured himself in court while testifying. Clearly not big on obeying the law. Does that mean that all politicians, especially Republicans, in North Carolina are against law and order? Is Trump gonna go down there and get cops to put hoses on the NC GOP party? He can’t even stop a single 17-year-old from deliberately crossing state lines, walking into a “mob,” provoking a struggle, and then shooting and killing two people to “defend” himself.

So, do tell. Your point, whatever it is, is specious.

Right on the money.

And…

And yet, the protests persist. And yet, if he has put down the rebellion, so-to-speak, to what lawlessness is he referring when he promises to save us all in the next term?

If he’s re-elected, the most egregious lawlessness will come from the Office of the President.

Wrong again…

Oh, ballot fraud? Such as Mark Harris actually committed in NC’s eighth congressional district in 2018, then perjured himself on the witness stand, and finally admitted the election was tainted to avoid prosecution for said perjury? That kind of election fraud?

Trump has it covered.

Critics say this effort marks a way to sow doubt about the validity of the results in the upcoming election, which is about two months away.

The ADL reported in the article that this cycle club has some overt racists in it. So, I’m sure, do the Masons and Kiwanis. That’s the sum and total of what the article says about them. They say nothing about Kroll. It is no surprise that there is overlap between some cycle clubs and some racist organizations, since motorcycle clubs tend to be race-exclusive. Here’s ADL’s broadside:

“Even the City Heat Motorcycle Club, an off-duty police motorcycle club with chapters in Chicago and Minneapolis, has members who have openly displayed white supremacist symbols.”

And Kroll is “accused” of having worn a white power emblem. No photos, of course.
And your mayor and governor excuse their allowing downtown Minneapolis to burn down because of white racism, notwithstanding that the police chief is black. Minneapolis might have a defiant guy at the head of the union, but if that’s the worst thing even the ADL can say about the organization (nothing about him personally) it’s not very much. Regardless, Kroll does not control the FBI or Homeland Security. Trump offered to send law enforcement to Minneapolis, but was refused by the Democrat administration there. They would rather see the city burn down and blame it on a union leader.

It does take some time and Democrat leadership, though, to excessively empower unions, and possibly Minneapolis has done that.
