So because something happened in the past with different people, the present claim is true. Yeah, you are not making sense.
 
Because what different people did in the past has no bearing on what different people may or may not be doing now in the present.

You can’t really believe there has only ever been one of every crime committed? Crimes and tragedies often happen repeatedly. There is nothing new under the sun.
 
That is the purpose of an investigation. It is in everyone’s best interest to find out.
This is about unscrupulous individuals allegedly. Not about a whole corrupt system.
It is possible…Not to be ruled out so lightly…

I wonder if this nurse will get the same intimidation James Schwab got when he resigned after refusing to lie for ICE. Federal officers showed up to ask him questions at his home during an interview with CBS. If there is anything to this allegation, I admire the courage of anyone who would take the risk of crossing this administration.

Either there is a whistleblower complaint filed with the Inspector General or their isn’t. This is not a matter of opinion. Your ad hominem is noted.

I will point out that if the whistleblower complaint does not in fact exist, any journalist would be a fool to make up such a story when it could be so easily disproven by the Inspector General.

I will also point out that this story is being reported by numerous outlets, so you can’t dismiss it as being just a “small news outlet”.

Yes. ICE and DHS use contractors to run their prisons (which is an abominable practice prone to abuse in and of itself), and in this case they are using contract physicians. The physician is accused of “upselling” the government for unnecessary procedures on people who have very, very limited means to resist.

You should read the complaint posted by @graciew above.

I have no idea if the complaint is true, but it certainly fits patterns of medical treatment I have seen in other detention centers (I have no experience with this center).

ICE’s contractors are known for their callous handling of the medical issues of those in their “care.” I personally knew one man whose stage III cancer went untreated by ICE for months. He eventually dropped his asylum case so he could die outside prison.

I would suspect this is more likely the contracted doctor taking advantage of the Govt, maybe with some inside help sending him patients for gyn exams.

Not that poor oversight excuses the Govt.
 
Seems this nurse kept going to her job with this (if true) going on. But as soon as she was demoted, she suddenly THEN became SO outraged that she had to go to the authorities? Yeah, she’s a regular Florence Nightingale. 😏

It isn’t a question of if there is a whistle blower or not.
It is a question of whether or not what the whistle blower says is true.

I personally need more evidence.

I think we are all saying this!

It certainly shouldn’t be ignored and hand waved off as Fake News. It need looking into and then, we can take it as outrageous practice or outrageous lies.

Unfortunately, the DHS is going to investigate itself on this one. There won’t be an independent investigation.

Well, that’s disappointing! I guess we have to hope for the investigation to be an honest one. Not everyone is evil even within organizations that aren’t especially open and honest to begin with. I’m not sure how open and honest the DHS is as I’ve never worked with them. For all the complaining about the CDC, I have worked with them and found them very open and honest even when they were picking my statistics apart! 😂

That is what the IG will determine. But Horton’s critique wasn’t directed at the whistleblower. It was directed at the news outlets reporting the story. Your critique is more to the point. I too will await the finding of the IG. It’s shouldn’t take long. Such things do not happen without leaving a generous paper trail.
