Story says 11-13. Also makes the point that the rest were in their early teens.
Pedophilia is defined as a crime against children 13 and younger. According to news reports, the oldest known victim was 12 to 13 and the youngest was 7 to 8 years old. Tell me how that doesn’t met the standards of pedophilia.

A male pedophile raping a male child does not equal homosexuality, anymore than a man raping a woman is about the need to have sexual intercourse.
How many cases do you know of that involve a male homosexual raping a woman?

I wouldn’t distinguish a homosexual giving in to their sexual desires as “good” if they wanted an eighteen year old partner over a 17 or 16 year old one. The former is wrong and bad and the latter is just worse.

Giving in to sin is in no way better owing to any secular definitions about “age of consent” issues as it would merely be a further descent into depravity based on the innocence and purity of ones sexual partner relative to what one is willing to give in to. A man who “wants” a 12 to 17 year old “conquest” merely wants a younger model of the same “make” of sexual being. We are right when we call all of it homosexual.

There are magazines that cater to legal-age, young-boy-looking porn. I would doubt anyone would not qualify that as homosexual, nor should they say that homosexuality that didn’t sink to that level is somehow OK. It just starts with wrong, bad, and evil, and gets worse from there.

This whole thing is horrible to read about…but I keep asking myself:

WHERE THE HECK WERE THE PARENTS OF THESE KIDS? ESPECIALLY THE FATHERS!

The parents should not have let their kids hang around with an adult who is not related to them! Why were the kids staying overnight at this guy’s house? Why were they allowed to go to games with him?

.
the organization he worked for purports to help kids without fathers or strong families

no further comment because I can’t speak right now.

I didn’t say a male homosexual raping a woman, don’t put words in my mouth.

And considering 60% of most rapes are not reported, you probably won’t find many statistics on that aspect, but it doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened.

Rape is NOT about sexual desire or orientation. Its about control and dominance.

There is chatter that officials at PSU are planning right now for Paterno’s exit.

It is difficult to tell from the press whether or not he and Spanier are guilty of wrongdoing, legally and/or morally.
Apparently the NY Times reported that Paterno will be forced to step down soon. What a bunch of nonsense. Paterno did what he was supposed to do. The assistant coach saw the incident back in 2002 and reported it to Paterno. Paterno went and reported it to Tim Curley the AD. Nothing was done from that point. Why in the world would Paterno be forced to step down? He can’t confirm himself that it actually happened, but he went and reported it to the AD anyway. What else was he supposed to do?

There are people who would love to see his 46 years of running a clean football program end in ruin. And if it does come down to him being forced out for this, it’ll be pretty darn rotten.

He should have gone to the police rather than to Tim Curley. He had, if not a legal obligation, a moral obligation to do just that. I know that we have the benefit of hindsight and what he was supposed to do would not have been so obvious at the time, but forcing him to resign is the right thing to do. And even on the purely practical level Paterno will be a distraction in the locker room and will not be able to gain the respect and lead a group of men in football.

Why not the assistant coach who actually saw it then? Shouldn’t he have gone to the police? As far as I understand, Paterno is required to report incidents to the AD who then should have reported it to the police himself.

Yes he should have gone to the police and not to his higher up.

The assistant witnessed a man holding a young boy against a shower wall and raping him. I am surprised there is even a question about what he should have done. Yes, somebody should have shown a little moral fortitude and gone to the police.

Btw, I think you are reading way too much into this. I live in Pennsylvania and follow PSU football very closely. Paterno has and always will be a highly respected coach by his players.

So you want to put the blame on the middle man who didn’t even see it happen, but also did as required and reported it to Tim Curley?

Blame is for God and little children. I think that Paterno should resign. I think that he should resign now before the investigation reveals exactly how much he know about Sandusky and when. The men that are really at fault belong in prison.

What does living in PA have to do with having an opinion on the subject? I live in PA as well, follow most of the sporting news in the state. One can read all about the grand jury findings online and come away with a much different opinion about what Paterno should or shouldn’t have done regardless of where they live.

Read again what I was replying to.

Yeah hurry up and resign, right? Just in case… 🤷

Being a Husker fan, all of the weeks that Nebraska has to play Penn St, it’s gotta be this weekend

Nebraska’s last visit to Happy Valley was in 01 or 02 and they got their tails kicked and now they have to go in the shadow of all of this disturbing, sickening stuff. What’s even worse is that Spanier came to Penn St. via Nebraska and to know he’s connected to this ****, well borrowing a line from Mike Gundy, it makes me wanna puke 😉
