re: DOD gal, you mean Audrey?
Yeah, that’s her name, thanks! I mean, technically, she doesn’t work “for” CTU and her dad is Secretary of Defense, afterall.
Kim is just a brat! And a real lightweight when it comes to horse sense. What does she expect w/ a father who saves the city, the state, the country and the world one hour after another? Does she think it is easy being JB?
Or maybe she just wants him to stop all of that and be her daddy?

I initially thought it was his secretary, but could be wrong.

Could the woman have been Karen Hayes, the director of homeland security who is about to take over? Henderson did note, afterall, that Jack really didn’t want to know how bad the information he was withholding was.
Listening to the voice again tonight (replayed the tape) the woman Henderson was speaking to sounded like the woman who was in bed with that guy toward the end - who the main terrorist called to bug about getting some program.

It definitely wasn’t the voice of the Homeland security chick. But, hmmm, that dude riding behind her seems rather fishy… probably a buddy of the VP.

Speaking of the VP that is the most hideous eyebrow penciling job I have ever seen on television!! 😛

Will whatshername, the DOD gal, be subject to firing, also?
Audrey can’t be fired because she’s not part of CTU, but as Lynn noted, she can be escorted off the premises. She’s there representing the DOD. I don’t thing anyone can boot DOD from being part of any CTU activity, but they could certainly submit a request to have someone else instead of Audrey.

But, really, her Daddy’s the Secretary of State so how far does one think a request like that would go?

I found it kind of amusing the mention of replacing personnel…I mean they took a 40% hit…the only ones left are the ones we saw and anyone in the medical area we weren’t able to see.

That’s what I’m thinking.

What didn’t make sense, however, is that after season two she actually became a CTU agent, so she’s been through the training and everything. It was good for her then, why, all of a sudden is it not? So she lost a boyfriend and her parents, but losing her mom and almost losing her dad the last time is what drove her to get into the business in the first place. This ‘new’ attitude just doesn’t click for me…

but it’s also possible the psychologist has something to do with that…

I don’t want to pick too much because its just fun, but - the employment process is just a lot to ignore. For an instance, Lynn has a drug addict sister, sorry but his career ladder has a missing rung. He would have had to kill her before he would get such a powerful position (if their ever was such a position) so that he would not have any possible reason of compromise. Anyhow, once I get passed the unreality, I’m ok.

There is something about that psychologist that doesn’t seem right…

I didn’t at all like what I heard about how Bill Buccanon will no longer be in charge and that other guy will have the authority to “releave” someone of their duties w/out first clearing it with the new boss.
I laughed when I heard this. Poor Bill, ousted from authority 2 times in one 24 hour day by Lynn and now her. What a wretched day on the job.

He totally creeped me out! When Jack got in his face and grabbed him…I confess, I was hoping he would hit him. BUt he still maintained composure in the end.

 I think this just goes to prove what I keep saying. The human resources position at CTU is one of the hardest jobs in the world. Almost as hard as Jack’s.

:bigyikes:Think of all the paperwork headaches this lastest crisis will cause! And what with everyone being always being suspended, or arrested, taken off duty, and then re-instated no one knows whether something is covered under CTU’s insurance plan, state disability, workman’s comp, or whatever!

:whistle:If the human resources department members survived the Sentox crisis they may just wish they didn’t.

I think you could forgive a little slip-up like hiring someone with a drugged-out sister. In any case that should have been handled by whichever government department is responsible for doing security background checks nowdays.:tsktsk:

I finally had the chance to watch the past episode of “24”. And as usual it left me with my mouth hanging open. The one thing that blew me away was the ending. …Watching Jack holding a dying Tony and seeing him cry. I would not want to be in the same room as Jack Bauer on Monday night !

Its going to be good…I look forward to Mon night :bounce:

I’m a bit surprised everyone seems to assume Tony is dying. Actually, we don’t know what was in the syringe he was injected with. It could easily have been something that just causes a lot of pain. Wasn’t that guy being tortured with drugs? Couldn’t it be that Tony wanted to watch the guy suffer first, then kill him for murdering Michelle?

I got hooked on this show last year…

It’s like getting on a roller coaster in a dark
building… You have NO IDEA where the
twists and turns are gonna be… You just
hope your seatbelt doesn’t let go!!!

It’s one heckuva ride…

I’ve enjoyed reading this entire thread…

Glad to see I’m not alone in this addiction!!!

I certainly appreciate your optimism, but…it’s not happening. Tony’s gone. 😦
From the episode summary posted on Wikipedia: Jack arrives seconds later, but Tony dies in Jack’s arms after uttering “She’s gone” referring to, his wife, Michelle Dessler.

But anyway, while I’m thinking about it, does anyone else get the feeling that this might be the last season? So many main characters have already been killed off, CTU itself has been attacked, and they’re facing what is probably the greatest terrorist threat that this country has ever known. Add that to the fact that Jack is already planning to return into hiding after this is over…and I just don’t see how they could bring him back again without making it seem really stupid. And what greater type of terrorist threat could they possibly go up against next? Although I really hope I’m wrong, it just seems to me as if they’re setting everything up for one huge grand finale to end the series. So does anyone else get this feeling…or is it just me?

Keifer Sutherland is on one heck of a ride and unless he’s stupid, not very likely to toss away his “bread and butter” Of course who really knows. They could kill off everyone and call the new series “Phoenix, INC”
