I am not sure that I could be great friends with those who are so into politics that they insist on bringing politics into the discussion every time we go out. As I mentioned, I have friends who don’t really discuss politics - they’re more apolitical. We are more likely to discuss sports or music for example. Not everything revolves around politics.

I have a few friends who are apolitical and yes, I am pretty close to them.

The problem is, today politics and religion cross all the time. A person who supports abortion uses politics and the law to get their way, same with many other issues. So, we cannot hide from the reality of what exists today. IMO. 🙂

WE are called to try to stop legal abortion, we cannot do that if we disengage from those around who are close to us.

What a person believes and advocates doesn’t affect your choice in associating with them? Would you associate with members of NAMBLA?

Why would it. I am sure that there are some members of NAMBLA that are very engaging on conversation and would make great neighbors (as long as you don’t have small boys for children).

I am pretty sure that that was covered in a parable covered in this weeks Mass of the last. The whores and tax thieves were like the people called to do work, and they said knew, and then went ahead and did it anyway. Compared to those who gave the master the thumbs up, and then couldn’t be bothered, for sure the whores and the thieves came up smelling like roses.
But then it could be said that they were thieves and whores after they chose to do God’s work instead?
 
My dad was telling me about an interview where the guy was saying how the protestors should go down two blocks to where the Fed is. lol
