There is no such a thing as hyphenated Jews. One is either a Jew or a Catholic. And
“Messianic Jews” are Christians and not Jews.
Regarding the “propaganda” that one must follow Judaism to be a Jew is not accurate. We have many secular Jews who do not follow the religion. But as long as they don’t adopt another, they can keep their Jewish identification.
