It is more important to find God.
Does your church teach you to hear Gods voice?
Do not look for a church Look for God.
If you find God’s Church you will find God…

It is the only way I really did…

To find His Son is to find Him… and His Son’s Presence is - tangibly - in the Church…

He cannot be found anywhere else on Earth in such a tangible and powerful way…

The will of God can only be accomplished through Christ (Isaiah)… And since we must do the will of God (not our own…) to enter Heaven… it seems that we should spend as much time with Him There as possible…

🙂

wow… didn’t realize there were so many posts here… until just now…

Those citations are rampant throughout the Augsburg Confession and the Apology of the Augsburg Confession. I suggest you read them.

Also, I suggest you take information regarding Lutheran faith and tradition from sources friendly to the tradition-- rather than drinking the bathwater of Roman polemicists. I choose not to learn of Roman theology and practice from the Lutheran polemicists, because it is a poor way of putting your neighbor in the best possible light. You might want to take that under advisement.

One quick ammendment-- there is no “Lutheran doctrine of birth control.”
Hope this helps.:tiphat:

Jesus promised the very gates of Hell would not prevail against his Church… (mt 16:18)

Martin Luther was the one who had pride… etc… and broke from the Original Church… (and, of course, there is only one in God’s view)…

The Roman Catholic Church is the only one dating back to the very beginning… was 1st called Catholic in at least the year 107… that is the first RECORDED incident of it being called Catholic… by St. Ignatious… a martyr

Im sorry brother you feel this way. I really believe you have a desire to upset or offend some Catholics here. But this is a forum of discussion, if you cant provide reliable facts, that I recomend you to first learn some history and then come back here. Not claim things that even you know are incorret. So please, with all due of respect, stop picking and choosing what you want to believe. If you really are claiming Orhtodox were the original Christians then open a new thread and I am pretty sure your claim will be refuted by one post, if not less.

Bill, if you don`t mind post your historical list again, I think people are slowly shifting subjects to ignore history and facts.

remember guys, people lie, history dosen`t.

The Roman Catholic Church is the fullness of truth. We didnt isolate ourselves from no other church(es) like your christian churches did. We dont want to boast or anything, we just want to share our -whole- faith in Jesus Christ with you. Nothing else, please understand that.

God Bless.

And it still hasnt thanks to the Reformation.

Martin Luther was the one who had pride… etc… and broke from the Original Church… (and, of course, there is only one in God’s view)…

Yes in Gods view there is only one.

The Roman Church not like the church of the 1st century.

LOL…well; you just used YOUR BIBLE to “prove” that!! 👍
Nice dance, 101.
Now - can you answer the question? I’ll ask you again:

**Can you show me - in the Bible - where it says that the Bible is the final authority? **

**I eagerly await your reply.👍 **

Tom you found it necessary to PM me and call me out here so you can talk about justification?
No where on this thread do I talk about justification.

I was addressing the false notion that
The Church= The Roman Catholic Church
and
the catholic(universal) church = The Roman Catholic Church.

Many who go first to Catholicism find a church or find Mary but never find Christ.
How do I know? Listen to them they will talk about how the Catholic Church is the one true church or they will talk about Mary and how Mary will lead them to Christ but they dont Talk Christ.

seems to me you’ve been here @ CAF long enough to know that isn’t so…

I rarely speak of Mary… and I found Jesus in a deep way only when i came back to His Church…

so: no comprendo…

you are not making any sense, thanks to the reformation there are now thousands and thousands of different churches with different sets of beliefs.

yeah, which is the Roman Catholic Church. You can`t have different sects with different beliefs and say, “in Gods view all of these sects make one church”. lol, that is silly

Can you provide your claim with historical facts?

Like the repeated acts of barbarism towards Catholic Catholic over the centuries?
Since you bring up barbarism, then remember that there are almost the two millennia of genocide commited for and on behalf of the Catholic Church, against Christians.
Simply that it is a tradition of men, which is usually abhorrent to most Protestants.
In as much as it is consistent with the commandment of carrying out The Great Commission, it is entirely scriptural, and indeed, is something that must be obeyed.

If you meant something other than I think you meant, then your failure to clarify your request probably resulted in me providing an answer to a question other than the one that you asked.
show us the necessity and the regenerative aspect of baptism.
1 Cor 6:11, Gal 5:25, Rom 7:18-21 imply otherwise.
There is no issue - it
Rephrasing: Exactly what Communion is, and represents, has been debated since the First Century. As such, it is an issue.
What is meant by each word, and how it is defined is crucial.
personal Lord and Savior" as no place in Catholic theology.
Is that an affirmation that you reject Catechism of the Catholic Church, as being a source for what Catholics believe? If not, then you need to define each and every word, because CCC clearly shows that it is Catholic Dogma to accept Jesus as one’s personal Lord and Saviour.

even if he had facts, his argument wouldn’t fly… cause of course the Church is going to be different than it was 2000 yrs ago…

The economical/political (etc, etc) structure of the world is different also… We have internet… (etc)… I mean, so what?

This point that the Church is not the same makes no sense to me… it means nothing…

I guess if dogma changed, then the guy would be onto something…

How can you “find Mary” if she doesn’t exist as the Catholic Church says she does? We believe she has ascended into Heaven. If you think of her as dead, then how would you be in danger of “finding” her? lol
I think you can go to ANY church and never “find” Christ, if you are mislead into having an attitude such as, “Well, it wasn’t specifically spelled out in Scripture, and I don’t trust this Pope guy’s revelations or interpretations, so I’m going to go with what my gut tells me.” or “I just don’t like it, it must be wrong.”
