A little too disheartening

For the really sick, it’s different, of course, but I have a feeling not enough farmers or ranchers are getting sick to affect the food supply noticeably.
That may be because “social distancing” for farmers may be 2,000 acres or more… 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

So, they did this to their own people to get at the U.S.? Interesting, though extremely flawed thinking.
As it appears a biological lab was in close proximity to the open market, there have been several people on the news who have posited that it came from the lab, including one yesterday. It also appears from reported observations that China was less than open and forthright concerning the spread and seriousness of the virus. That certainly does not prove the issue, but is not inconsistent with such a scenario.

As to your concern that it was intentional, my impression is no, it was more likely an accident. There are a number of things which occurred which seem to indicate it was not intentional; that does not change the fact that we are getting an experience of what BW would look like world wide. It is akin to Pandora’s Box…

Agreed. And they sure don’t go to town every day, and when they do it’s usually to a town of a few thousand people at most.

The deaths, loss of jobs, sickness, fear and the thought of the Democrats taking control of everything is all a little bit too much.
I guess you don’t get how this sounds.

The virus wasn’t contained in China in January. It had spread to a couple to few dozen countries by then. Not only should travel from China been shut down, it should have been shut down from all parts of the world.

Any people returning to the US should have been quarantined as soon as they got off the plane.

He didn’t take it seriously, his “hunch” was that it wasn’t a big deal. I will state again, the President is in charge of all the departments which handle this type of situation. That fact can’t be argued.

End of political discussion

And which countries are you referring to who aren’t reporting correctly?

Where do you get your information from.

I am not saying that all countries are reporting 100%, but I am not pulling information out of a hat and throwing it out there either.

Got any credible sources for you info?

I just love Monday Morning Quarterbacks. So fun to watch them tell everyone how it really should have been done on 4th down. 😅 😂 🤣

Why do you want to make this political? Why does anyone want to put on tin foil conspiracy hats regarding sabotage of our country?
🙂 I think the tin foil comment was in reference to conserving tin foil for re-use, as all smart conservationists do. 😉

I myself have learned how to make hand soap. Some batches, I even use bacon grease. ☺️
LOL I have a container of bacon grease in my freezer. IDK what I’m going to do with it, but it’s there.
Make soap! 🧼

I work for a global company and have friends who do a lot of international stuff.

I think they know what’s what.
I haven’t slept in a Holiday Inn Express in a while, but if I had, or had spoken to others who had, that wouldn’t make my “hunches” any better than anyone else’s.

YMMV.

Sorry to briefly go off topic…doesn’t it get rancid! I’ve heard of lard and various oils but not bacon grease! 😱
I clean it up first “washing” with water and straining. A little rosemary oil added to the blend (no not solely bacon grease). No one complained yet.

Never said it was
Not only should travel from China been shut down, it should have been shut down from all parts of the world.
So Trumps critics are completely wrong. They didn’t want it shut down from anywhere

False he’s not in charge of City and State governments that play enormous role. NY Gov and NYC mayor encouraged New Yorkers to continue socializing as always even after pandemic was known

Like it or not, the way it was done certainly didn’t do the country any good. Fact.
;To those who wish to Quarterback: On January 23rd, WHO stated that it was too early to declare an international health emergency. This was after Beijing, a couple of days before, had showed up in Wuhan with an epidemiologist; information coming out of Wuhan had been censored, denial had been made that person to person transfer was even possible, and little real information was coming out about the extent of the problem.

On January 24, two cases were identified in the US.

On January 25, at the beginning of the Lunar New Year, Xi J(name removed by moderator)ing lead a toast, with absolutely no mention of the chaos that was occurring in Wuhan and several other cities.

On January 31 a travel restriction was put on fro travel from China.

On February 5, three experts were called before a house sub committee; including Dr. Jennifer Bouey, Chair of China Policy at the Rand Corporation, and Dr, Jennifer Nuzzo, Senior Scholar at John Hopkins Center For Health Security; they testified that travel restrictions were not necessary and likely to have little impact.

It appears that the Communist Party of China has lied, and continues to lie about the actual impact of the virus in China; which should come as no surprise to anyone considering that they control information flow somewhere between strictly and extremely strictly. Their estimate of under 4,000 deaths has been challenged by Radio Free Asia, who estimates closer to 40,000 deaths; observation have been made of large numbers of urns showing up at the crematoriums and those operating constantly.

In short, we had information that a virus of debatable danger was involved, with little real information as to how bad it really was; and information from the World Health Organization that was hedging the severity.

We could go on, to no real point; those who hate Trump will either lie about or distort anything he does or does not do.

Is he perfect? Exceedingly far from it; he has faults just as everyone else has faults, and is an exceedingly poor “off the cuff” speaker. But when Gavin Newsome refuses to play along with the press and publicly says Trump is doing a good job, perhaps we could put the Trump Derangement Syndrome on the shelf for a bit. The impeachment trial started January 16 and concluded February 5th; and of course that was only a minor distraction… not.

On poor and conflicting information he made decisions, when there were staff backing his decision and others deriding them as unnecessary, racist, xenophobic and a raft of other “reasons”.

But of course, with the results we have today, and the knowledge we have today, it certainly could have been done … how? Oh, that’s right, we now can say the way it was done certainly didn’t do the country any good.

I am a registered Democrat and I am not the least fond of him either. But I am also capable of looking at what has gone on with a critical analysis, and I don’t let my feelings about the President determine whether or not things are moving as well as possible. This isn’t Italy, or Spain, or Iran, or India, or a host of other countries struggling with this pandemic as we are; and some of them seem to bee struggling more.
