You had my hopes up!
No, it is only available for licensed laboratory testing in the US. while it is a Point of Care device, it is not approved for home use. Also, they are back ordered (not surprising) and will only accept orders for 450 units minimum order. It’s still nice that these are becoming available. While the company is located n the US, this kit is entirely developed and tested from China…just in case that matters to anyone.

We were specifically told 15 cases. Soon to be zero.
You people are incorrigible. You take one line completely out of context then rely on your complete lack of contextualization to determine what you decide is the truth of the matter, irrespective of what was said or meant.

Discussed here…

Historic figure': Trump will be hailed for defeating virus, rescuing economy, predicts Gingrich World News
Uh, no it doesn’t. It sounds — in context — that he was speaking of the 15 people that were infected at that time and that the numbers of recoveries give us hope. So we have a total of — but we have a total of 15 people, and they’re in a process of recovering, with some already having fully recovered. Only those ready to find fault in every word he says would read that as a promise. As to your cut and paste of the second quote… "they’re not going to be going to certain countries where th…
Trump’s exact words in context.
Feb. 28 : “I think it’s really going well. We did something very fortunate: we closed up to certain areas of the world very, very early — far earlier than we were supposed to. I took a lot of heat for doing it. It turned out to be the right move, and we only have 15 people and they are getting better, and hopefully they’re all better. There’s one who is quite sick, but maybe he’s gonna be fine. … We’re prepared for the worst, but we think we’re going to be very fortunate."
Perhaps the fundamental issue here is that you are treating the state and heads of state as if they are gods and whatever they speak has the gravity of an infallibly divine oracle. So you parse every word and take each, on its own, to be the absolute truth.

Fortunately, conservatives are here to provide correction to that notion. No, the state and leaders of state are not infallible, nor is every word that comes from the mouth of Trump to be taken as DIVINE TRUTH, necessarily, nor as true in the way you want it to be true, so that you can later “prove” that Trump is not your god but that you desire some other to lead the divinely utopian state.

No matter how you parse it, “…they are getting better, and hopefully they’re all better…” does NOT amount to a promise, AND “We’re prepared for the worst, but we think we’re going to be very fortunate…” is an expression of hopeful realism, NOT A DIVINE ORACLE, i.e., NOT ONE that CAN be used to prove Trump is NOT divine.

This is s graph of deaths in New York. The spike at the end is current deaths to date this year.

Known covid deaths would make the spike lower. So there are more deaths than normal, and more deaths than just by adding the known covid cases. How did all these people die? Some perhaps from other ailments and they could not get treatment due to not being able to be treated at the hospital.

But the others?
You may want to post a link to the source if you are looking for a proper answer to your question.

So glad you pointed out it was developed in China and licensed for laboratory
testing. I will pass.

This is not out of context. This is just one of many statements that, taken in total, are Trump not doing his job and just downplaying the whole thing.

As I said upthread - people read into Trump’s statements what they want. Taken in total on their face, it’s Trump with a whole lot of nothing to see here.

All goes to show that the less Trump talks the better.
I am not following you. He would, then, be criticized for being unwilling or incapable of defending his position if he spoke less. Either way, the press places him in an untenable position.

A month After Emergency Declaration, Trump's Promises Largely Unfulfilled World News
what is faked? Headlines from end of January to mid-February, largely in reaction to Trump closing air traffic from China. [image] Now that he has taken largely successful measures that have seen the US through the peak of the pandemic at least two weeks early, the press has done a complete 180° and criticized him for not doing enough. Can’t win with a press that is “always” right no matter how wrong they were because they can flip the script en masse. Fortunately, many are taking digit…

NO, Trump places himself in the untenable position by saying what he says.

If he wouldn’t rant as much, there would be less to defend and clean up.

HarryStotle . . .
Actually, the original estimates presumed social distancing . . .
That’s exacty right HarryStotle!
That is what I was told week ago when I was warning about the perverted panic anyway.

(Incidentally. The same kind of panic-driven decision-making model urging we see from many of these SAME people pushing a phony global warming narrative.)

Actually, it only appears that way because of the immediate spin that the media puts on his words. If you follow the aftermath beyond the immediate impression/media response the vast majority of the time he is proven correct. It’s just that you have to demonstrate a modicum of fairness to see through the media continually blurring and spinning.

Just look at the headlines from the media in Post #10 and compare them (fairly) to how the media have done a complete about face on their position from that position in late January to mid February to now saying he should have acted earlier.

It is easy to be critical when your criticisms aren’t those being enacted and have no consequences in reality. The media can flit this way and that way with little or no accountability because a solid proportion of “the people” have such short memories and apparently no critical faculties left — except where Trump is concerned.

“…and we only have 15 people and they are getting better, and hopefully they’re all better. There’s one who is quite sick, but maybe he’s gonna be fine.”
Uh,…,no. This is not the only time Trump mentioned the number 15, and it is not the context for the quote that you are objecting to. It was a different context in which Trump was discussing the scope of the larger problem, and clearly implying that those who were raising alarms were over exaggerating the problem. If that is not what he intended, he is a very poor communicator and should be replaced for that reason alone, because that is how listeners took it at the time.

More evidence of move to shut down speech. (Agreeing with you here).

Provide that quote.

If Trump was “clearly implying” that those raising the alarms were “over exaggerating the problem” why did he shut down travel from China earlier than pretty much every other authority?

He must have been convinced that there was a problem, no?

Or perhaps you want to insist that move was merely xenophobic of him, as if we can trust Democrats and the media to tell us what his true motives were. Certainly you appear convinced that Democrats and the media have special powers to read the deepest thoughts of those who happen not to assent to every Democrat tenet. I happen to think that might not be true.

From the Feb. 26 news conference, here is the context:
But we’re very, very ready for this, for anything — whether it’s going to be a breakout of larger proportions or whether or not we’re — you know, we’re at that very low level, and we want to keep it that way.

So we’re at the low level. As they get better, we take them off the list, so that we’re going to be pretty soon at only five people. And we could be at just one or two people over the next short period of time. So we’ve had very good luck.

The Johns Hopkins, I guess — is a highly respected, great place — they did a study, comprehensive: “The Countries Best and Worst Prepared for an Epidemic.” And the United States is now — we’re rated number one. We’re rated number one for being prepared. This is a list of different countries.
Now, as you read that, is he talking about just those original nursing home patients? Or is he drawing implications about the country as a whole?
If Trump was “clearly implying” that those raising the alarms were “over exaggerating the problem” why did he shut down travel from China earlier than pretty much every other authority?
Because he views that as something that he can do without inconveniencing the American public. What Trump considered “over exaggerating” would be anything that does inconvenience the American public - like what we are going through right now.

It should be pointed out that he did not shut down travel from China.

Well, that goes right along with not inconveniencing Americans, since they were still allowed to travel from China.

He moved to keep out foreigners, not the virus. He may have been successful with the former, but he was not with the later.

Why not get accurate with your statements instead of stating things so loosely that they portray things in a way that is wide open to interpretation?

What the administration did was to restrict any foreign nationals (of any country) who had recently been in China from entering the U.S. while permitting Americans and those whose employment was based in the States be put into quarantine for a time when they arrived back into the U.S.

What were you expecting an outright ban on anyone who had been in China irrespective of where they were citizens or had legal right to return to the US? Abandon US citizens and those with a legal right to work in the US?

That would be odd coming from your side, a side which advocates open borders even for those here illegally — well until this particular bone became your most recent weapon to use on Trump.

Fortunately, the virus has no independent means of transport. It requires a carrier. Since foreigners don’t have a legal right to come to the US, the only individuals that could legally be stopped from entering the country are foreign nationals. What part of that legality do you not comprehend?
