Hi hansard,
Regarding life choices, I am a Catholic. It’s even posted right here when my user-page comes up.
I try and stay focused on God and His kingdom. Besides Him, that includes everything in it, including His angels and His saints. Out of His love for us, He has given them to us to help us. We only have to ask.
I will tell you what I have learned from my own time on Earth, and what I can share with you, that sometimes seems to make people rather upset about their own or others’ life experiences, and what they have seen and heard. It comes down to “why certain things are allowed to happen to us.”
I have personally learned that it is better to “keep an open mind about things,” as there is much that we don’t even know about life, and about how things operate.
What I have learned is that there are just going to be things that I am just going to not understand, and that is alright with me. It took some time for me to accept that.
Regarding some of the accidents that I was in, yes, I was injured from them, but I could have been hurt so much worse. “Why wasn’t I totally spared from these accidents, or from one of the accidents, etc.” I don’t know. That’s something that I will have to wait for the answer for, when my time comes.
I don’t know that I have heard of anybody having either “negligent angels,” regarding your comments, or that the angels would intentionally “ignore” anyone, either.
God also gives us a free will to use in life, as well. It is possible that someone was exercising that choice, too, if they wanted to, at that time. God isn’t going to force us to do something, and neither will an angel.
You will see Scriptural references to angels, if you care to reference them and read about them, too, in the Bible.
In a past thread here on CAF about angels, someone posted that EWTN had quite a few articles concerning angels, and they do, if you would like to do some more reading about them.
Here is a link to one of their articles on angels, if you would like to read it:
