By His very nature, He can’t lie. Impossible. Why even ask???
 
Is there a project you are working on? You are daily polling people. Are you looking for blog ideas or are you writing a book?

The answer to the query is of course, NO.
 
“God said ‘Let there be light, and there was light…’”

Even if God spoke something that wasn’t true, it would become true by virtue of the fact that God said it.

God doesn’t say things because they are true. Things are true because God says them.
 
Maybe lied is not the best word, but I think god has tested me in the same way he tested Abraham. When God told Abraham that he had to sacrifice his son Isaac for him, he was lying to him as a means of testing him. Obviously not to the same extreme but I believe god tests us all in the same manner. I believe he intentionally tests us with obstacles that may prove in some way that were incomplete in our faith, or test us with a lie to see how faithful we really are. If we pass our faith strengthens, if we fail we need to take another look at how we run our lives.

Oh dear, God did not lie to Abraham. God never said, “Abraham, you must kill your son.” He told Abraham to offer his son as a burnt offering; i.e. he required Abraham to give back to Him the thing he held most dear, and asked for it in such a way that Abraham couldn’t imagine it was anything but a total commitment. Abraham responded in faith, with obedience and trust, despite what it looked like to him… and he made the offering. God stopped the actual burning part, but not until after Abraham had fully committed – which was what He wanted. This was not a lie, and maybe I’m not explaining it well, but it wasn’t even a trick.

If I think God said one thing and then it turns out I was wrong – that’s me being wrong, not God lying. As another poster said,* it is impossible for God to lie*. It is very, very possible for me to misunderstand!

God will allow obstacles, yes, and we will be tested. He absolutely cannot lie.
 
Some time later God **tested **Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham!”

“Here I am,” he replied.

2 Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.”

LATER

“Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him.** Now I know that you fear God**, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.”

God lied to him as a test to see if Abraham was actually devoutful to him.
 
There’s no lie there. You can call it that, but at the very best it’s an oversimplification which isn’t going to serve you at all.
