Really? how and by whom?

And if it has been taken care of, was it “auto-magically” taken care of for every living person?

Why then even have christianity as a religion?

You are quickly my friend going over the deep end, better you stop yourself and repent your heresy now.
I was Catholic

Correct. Now where in the Bible does it say original sin?
If you deny the sinful nature of man, then you have a bigger problem than “orignal sin”

you have to now deal with the necessity of Jesus.

if man is not in a fallen state, there is no need for Jesus.

This is what you are claiming.

I don’t need to worry about original sin that has been taken care of.
Does it not say Repent and be baptized? Yes or No

Yes. And if you bothered to read the Scripture (and few are individually identified) are adults, because they were converted as adults. This makes sense, because Christianity was just beginning—there were no “cradle Christians,” people brought up from childhood in Christian homes.

Find in scripture an example of a child raised in a Christian home who is baptized only upon making a “decision for Christ?”

Answer me,where does it EXPLICITLY say: ADULTS ONLY will be baptized upon making a decision?

It a simple yes or no

It is amazing how I can turn around apply your own words towards yourself.

It is a simpe yes or no.

BTW: Tell me what part of St.Paul’s words you do not like when he clearly says: HOUSEHOLDS…He did not say: ONLY the adults.
I see you can’t answer a simple yes or no and how did you turn around apply my own words towards me? The household thing don’t bother me. That is all Catholics can go by to justify infant baptism from the Bible.

Not at all, I have explicitly justified the need for infant baptism.

The cleansing of original sin.

Baptism is a ritual cleansing in judaism, usually needs to be done by men from touching a woman during her menses.

In much the same way baptism washes away original sin.

Without it, we remain in a fallen state, and are not saved.

I am a jew, like many cradle catholics you were and continue to be ignorant of your ex-faith.
Now starts the name calling by saying you were and continue to be “ignorant” of my x-faith. Now I have not said anything that disrespects you. But you are showing the loving way Catholics are. If we disagree with the CC we are ignorant.

I don’t go by doctrin like you do. I don’t deny the sin nature of man, we all have that. Where in the Bible does it say we need to be baptized to wash away original sin?
Man is always in a fallen state, even after being baptized. It called Sin, and we all sin.

Let me re-phraise it. You have to used the house hold thing to say that infants were baptized. Is that all that you have to go on to say infants were baptized?

Mark 16:16 “Anyone who believes {only a person of the age of reason can believe, infants can’t} and is baptized will be saved…”

Acts 2:38 “…Each of you must turn from sin and turn to God {only a person of the age of reason can turn from sin and turn to God, infants can’t} and be baptized…for the forgiveness of sins.”

rev kevin,

you are pitting your logic and/ or interpretation of Scripture against 2,000 years of solid teaching. Why should we believe you in light of the verses I supplied from 2 Peter 3?

1st Century Catholics./QUOTE]

Actually, they were first century Christians, I don’t think the apostles would identify themselves as Catholic, the term didn’t exist then. “Catholicism” only appeared as a “religion” after the schism in 1054.

The term catholic was already known in the 1st century. St.Ignatius quoted the term in 107A.D.

It looks like rev would be totally LOST without the bible doesn’t he…🤷

No rev… It means that you are blind to the truth and will not accept it no matter how much people on this thread have shown you documented FACTS on infant baptism by the early church fathers!

See, more ignorance, sin is not equal to fallen state.

sin is the result of fallen state.

through baptism we are cleansed, it is our way of being born again in Christ.

If you do not baptize then you are not born again in Christ.

I will issue this challenge one last time before taking it to its own thread.**
**So far, I’ve had only one taker, and his (Dokimas) only response was that the ECFs were wrong. **
Rev Kevin danced around the issue but was unable to answer the question.

**To ANY PROTESTANT who rejects infant Baptism:

Can you please give me a clear and comprehensive response to what the Fathers taught about infant Baptism and how they not only supported* it but practiced it?***

Because Jesus said that unless we are born of water and spirit we cannot enter the kingdom of heaven (John 3:5).
**The *real ***question is: Why would we deny heaven to babies?
To make your statements, you have to make two assumptions: 1 that Jesus meant water baptism and 2 that God isn’t loving, caring, merciful and gracious enough to take an infant to Heaven if it dies without being baptized. I’m not will to make those assuptions, especially the second one. My God, IMO, is loving enough, caring enough, merciful enough and gracious enough towards infants that He’ll, in a twinkling of an eye, take them to Himself.
