You know as well as I, we “lay” people have no say in the matter other than venting our disgust. The Church has apologized only twice, that I know of, in its 2000 year history. Once to the Jews for standing back and not being vocal and active during the Holocaust and just the other day when Benedict apologized for the sexual abuse that occurred. I agree, the priests giving Communion should have taken a stand and said NO, this is not right. I will hear their confessions first. The priest is as much at fault as our illustrious Senator and members of Congress. These people are poor examples of members of the Church. Unfortunately, non-Catholics probably don’t hear the ire expressed by those who know better.Whats the problem? the preist performing the communion should refuse to give it. if he does give it to them knowingthat they are pro abortion. then he should be relieved of his duties. simple as that really.
