do you just go to a regular doctor? and they do the tests? No you will not die if you don’t get to a dr. right away. It’s just that your health and babies health are best monitored and cared for from the gate.
oh… actually i am pretty sure ive seen ads for birthright on the bus. i did talk to jreducation, he even gave me some contact info for another group of people. i guess there is a lot of organizations out there that try to prevent abortions? you are probably right, i wouldnt want my mom to have had an abortion. i would still want to be alive. but if i had a baby and couldnt take care of it and it went to a bad home… then it would all be my fault and thats not right either :\celestielle…I hope you have found some hope here, and I would really recommend you e-mail Brother JR, he sincerely wants to help you and your baby. As for being afraid the baby will wind up in foster care. You say you yourself were in foster care, and you had bad experiences. But do you think you would be better off if you hadn’t been born? Would you rather your mother aborted you? I really hope you don’t think so! Your baby is already here, already alive! Abortion is not like waving a magic wand that poof makes the baby go away. Abortion is having your baby either sucked out of you by a vacuum, or, if the baby is too big for that, actually having the doctor chop it into pieces and pulling the pieces out of you! I doubt you’d have wanted your life to end that way, no matter how hard your life has been. Please don’t do the same thing to your baby!
Also, while I admit I don’t know about Canada, but in the US there actually is a kind of adoption called Open Adoption in which the birth parents play an active role in the child’s life. Not just getting letters and pictures. Actually seeing the child every month, even every week, sometimes even more often! So it’s not a choice between having to care for the baby all by yourself, or giving the baby up to some stranger and never seeing the baby again.
You have many many options and many people who want to help not just your baby, but YOU. Certainly here on CAF, and I’m sure in your real life as well. I understand you’re scared and feel lost, and you sound young. Please, please get help.
I’m also going to give you a link to a group called Birthright International. It was started in Toronto, Canada, and there are chapters all over Canada and the USA. Birthright offers pregnancy tests, and will actually help you find a doctor, too.
birthright.org/htmpages/locate.htm
You can locate your closest Birthright group by just typing in your postal code.
Also, their main number is: 1-800-550-4900.
Please know that you and your baby are in the prayers of many people here on CAF!
Not sure how medical care works there. But yes, you should be able to call your regular doctor. Tell them you think you’re pregnant, and ask for a blood test to be ordered. (that’s how we’d do it in the US).do you just go to a regular doctor? and they do the tests?
i dont think i could give a baby away to strange people…You never answered me.
Is adoption not a possibility for you?
They will go over everything with you slowly and before they do it but they need to do it to make sure things like the placement of the baby and such is alright and it is the only way to do certain tests that well - if you are pregnant there is a chance that you also have been exposed to certain other things and the doctors will need to know before later in the pregnancy. Also woman who is sexually active should be getting a Pap Smear once a year as they are at a higher risk for cervical cancer - so yes it is absolutely necessary for your health.needles, ew D: is the pelvic exam absolutely required, can you tell them not to?
As Brother JR who spends his life and Vocation doing this work has already stated she only needs to share what she is comfortable sharing. You never answered me.

there is no other way to check that? couldnt they just do an xray? They will go over everything with you slowly and before they do it but they need to do it to make sure things like the placement of the baby and such is alright and it is the only way to do certain tests that well - if you are pregnant there is a chance that you also have been exposed to certain other things and the doctors will need to know before later in the pregnancy. A pap smear looks for microscopic cellular changes. An xray looks for a major tumor. By the time that type of cancer grew into a tumor it would already be deadly - if it ever showed up that way before spreading to other organs - it is one of the most common cancers in young women today. Also - exposing your reproductive organs to radiation is never good idea at any age - this is just one of those necessary medical procedures that come along with becoming sexually active - the whole thing when your not pregnant takes under 5 minutes - you will have to ask one of the women who has had children how long when you are pregnant - but yes instead of getting upset you do need to take a deep breath - relax and worry about what is best for you and your baby.there is no other way to check that? couldnt they just do an xray?

yeah i guess i will have to :\ they arent allowed to contact anybody about it right? like they cant call anybody and say “did you realize so and so came in today for a preg test”?A pap smear looks for microscopic cellular changes. After all these would be tests that would be important whether or not you were pregnant.
I know in the US they are not - I cannot speak to the rules in Canada - my advice to you is to is to speak to the people that Brother JR put you in touch with they will know the laws better. How old are you as this may make a difference? You will need some help along the way eventually - and as Brother JR said if you are worried about your safety they will find a “safe house” for you even if it means sending you to the US.yeah i guess i will have to :\ they arent allowed to contact anybody about it right? like they cant call anybody and say “did you realize so and so came in today for a preg test”?
unless you were under 12, which I doubt you are, a healthcare professional cannot share your medical history with anyone, or at least that’s how it is here in the US.yeah i guess i will have to :\ they arent allowed to contact anybody about it right? like they cant call anybody and say “did you realize so and so came in today for a preg test”?
I just didn’t want to make her any promises because she isn’t in the US.unless you were under 12, which I doubt you are, a healthcare professional cannot share your.medical history with anyone, or at least that’s how it is here in the US.
And just so you know, a pap smear while pregnant takes egen less time than when not pregnant. And to tell you the truth, childbirth is not what people paint it to be. It can be painful but if you get an epidural, you’ll breeze thru it.
Still praying for you and your baby.
I think it is that way too over in Canada but if Mexico has the same rules as the US, I bet Canada does too.I just didn’t want to make her any promises because she isn’t in the US.
