If that is fascism, well I guess I am a fascist, and quite a few other Americans are too.
No, none of that does make you a fascist, but what you’re arguing for there is a lot different to what you stated in your previous post. I think you were caught out and went back to parroting more standard American conservative demands to cover yourself (apparently it worked).
Interestingly enough, while we are on the subject of symbols, the fasces quite frequently appears in American political iconography.
Notice that the last things listed there are two art pieces from fascist Italy. I acknowledged in my post that it was derived from earlier nationalist movements, but clearly it hasn’t had many connotations outside of fascism for Americans in about 90 years, and I very much doubt you are that old.

Given you are someone who has expressed support for the killings by Franco (including his regime killing Catalan priests), I think we know where your sympathies lie.

I myself am a respectable fraction of that august age, but I’d say that awareness of whence came the fasces would depend on what level of historical sophistication an individual possessed.

Transylvania University | Academics

Tompkins, Avery | Transylvania University

I don’t want to be the authoritative person in the classroom. My favorite classes are the ones where I get to facilitate and step in as needed. The classes are there for the students. It’s not my soapbox. The first thing you notice about Avery…

FYS/FYRS/August Term
Introduction to Sociology
Introduction to Women’s Studies
Research Methods
Transgender Studies
Trans Memoir and Creative Non-Fiction
Queer Critiques
Activism and Social Media
Sociology of the Body
Politics of Identity
Contested Masculinities

I would suggest Mr. Sandmann pass on Tompkin’s classes and study something that will either add value to society or earn him a living.
Frankly, I am disappointed Sandmann would want to take ant of those classes. What a colossal pile of garbage and waste of time.

I think he’ll be okay though as long as he does NOT invite the professor over for dinner and keeps his crucifix and garlic handy.

I thought about why Sandmann would take any classes from this huckster, as I consider what Tomkins teaches to be snake oil for the woke that really adds no value to society (other than to be a jobs program for “professors” who could not get a real job otherwise).

Perhaps he’s taking the class to have a career as an author, pundit or politician highlighting the asininity what of what gets taught in higher education.

For understandable reasons: indoctrination to a certain constrained mindset.

You are confused between the ends and the means to achieve those ends. Understandably since the American right has more or less played the Washington Generals to the American left’s Harlem Globetrotters since Buckley and the neo-cons tooks over the party. Fortunately Trump changed that.
Given you are someone who has expressed support for the killings by Franco (including his regime killing Catalan priests), I think we know where your sympathies lie.
I do not recall supporting so much as saying they were unfortunate but inevitable. Assuming of course they even happened to begin with.

Wow, Tompkins’ picture and class list were exactly what I expected.

Apparently standing still and smiling while a stolen valor American Indian walks into your personal space and bangs a drum inches from your face is being spoiled and entitled.
I’m not sure you recognize that the youth had on a self-satisfied smirk.

He smirked! Oh the horror! He totally deserves to have his life destroyed by the media for that. How dare he smirk at an Indian who walked up to him and started banging his drum in his face! This is an outrage right up there with the Holodomor!

He was 17, said he was nervous, did not understand, and did not want to embarrass himself or his family

There’s a leap! I’m surprised you know his intentions and fears that well.

He himself has stated that publicly many times and the reasons.

“People judged me based off one expression, which I wasn’t smirking,” Sandmann, said to “Today” correspondent Savannah Guthrie. “And they’ve gone from there to titling me and labeling me as a racist person.”

But you described his expression as a “self-satisfied smirk.” Please explain how you know his intentions so well?

Read The Coddling of the American Mind. It is written by two university professors. It will open your eyes as to what’s happening on many U.S. campuses. I got the e version from my local library.

I think that is an evident observation. The other person talked about his emotional state, what he understood and his intentions. That’s really taking a leap when looking at a photograph.

Poor baby! He should have thought of that before he made a partisan speech on a national stage.
The irony in all of this boils down to one particular fact: The media created the “new” Nick Sandmann. They assumed that because he is white, he was the aggressor against the native American man. They assumed that because he wore a MAGA hat, he must be racist. The media, by propagating lies and slander, created Nick Sandmann, political commentator.

How does anybody know he smirked? Smirking is a state of mind. I’ve been accused of smirking when I was just trying to keep a peaceful mien in the face of verbal attacks.

So what if he did smirk? He was a kid in a highly charged situation, surrounded by people hurling abuse at him. All he did was smile awkwardly. Who cares?

Nick Sandmann said he did not smirk, because that became the issue. Today did a show right after the incident and he explained to Savannah Gutrie he did not want to embarrass hs family
