Now, now, don’t try to confuse the people with facts. The narrative they have been fed in order to contradict the truth—that inconvenient truth which managed to be captured on film and recorded and played to the world so that the clips and the lies were laid bare—is too terrifying for them to face.
A world in which a young white male could wear a particular ball cap, attend a particular march, and stand quietly in the face of belligerency, passive-aggressive posturing and lying, and national news and celebrities attempting to virtue-shame the horror of a person choosing the ‘wrong’ hat, the ‘wrong’ march and message, and the wrong ‘reaction’ is entirely too much.
While this exists on both ‘sides’, the fact is that the mainstream media is more likely —and in this particular case proved itself to be—to insist that white young men are racist, sexist, and violent because white privilege and white anger and white male oppression of women and above all white male Christian intolerance toward people of color and diversity and choice and feminism and all things ‘progressive. . .
And this young man stood there and blew their carefully constructed narrative to shreds because he acted like a perfectly normal, well mannered, intelligent thoughtful Christian as in acting like Christ Himself—person.
The nerve!!
This young man blew away the stereotype that had been erected about youth, men, whites, pro-life proponents, and Christians. . .and about freedom of speech (which was assumed to only work for one being free to agree with a certain narrative). . .such that the blindfold over society’s eyes has been well and truly ripped off.
Now people have no excuse for not ‘seeing’ unless they choose to keep their eyes shut and try to pretend it never happened.
