“The United States is running concentration camps on our southern border and that is exactly what they are,” Ocasio-Cortez said in an Instagram live stream on Monday evening. “They are concentration camps.”

Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer suggested New York congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez owes “every Jew on this planet an apology” after she described Southern border detention facilities as “concentration camps.”

What a ridiculous woman and what a
ridiculous comment.

The Jewish people were forcibly removed
from their homes. These are migrants who have voluntarily left their homes to try to
illegally enter another country or get around their immigration laws.

“We have what I would call a concentration camp system,” Pitzer says, “and the definition of that in my book is, mass detention of civilians without trial.”
Using the “concentration camp expert’s” definition, I could legitimately call public schools concentration camps.

There are refugee camps all around the globe. They are not pretty places.

My prayers are with all migrants, being forced to leave their homes due to fear, poverty, security, hunger, or whatever. I pray that they know healing, love, and mercy

Tim Pool on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s comments and why she doesn’t really believe what she says.

He also mentions new recent efforts by YouTube to delete certain news channels and force people into watching CNN, MSNBC and FOX etc.

Maybe it’s hyperbolic (maybe), but given the conditions of these places it’s appropriate enough. People are dying.

Oh so now Trump is actually Hitler. Well that explains everything. Can’t wait to be saved by a party that actually advocates for the murder of babies. Then we can stop being complicit is Nazism.

It’s not either/or. The Republican party has failed us and let itself become the Trump party. Killing unborn babies is wrong. Putting children in detention camps is wrong.

Oh, no. No.

People are not being tortured, experimented upon, shot, gassed, or forced to play in orchestras to entertain their tormentors.

And the people that are there were not forced out of their homes and taken by over-crammed cattle cars with only one bucket in the corner for a bathroom and another bucket of water for the entire group of prisoners.

I don’t understand this argument. People have been clear to differentiate the early signs from the horrific later stages of the Nazis.

The critical question is: at what point did you think that the Nazis became evil. Was it only with the gas chambers? Was it with forced relocation? Or was the DNA that would lead to this already present in the ideology and the “struggle”? Were the Nazis evil in their embryonic form or only when full-fledged?

When was the right time for people to be vigilant? When was the right time for strong opposition? Only when it is nearly too late?

The Nazis and the Bolsheviks were killers right from the very beginning. Killing was the objective. That’s a far different thing from sequestering people in humane conditions for purposes of investigation. AOC knows that. Like her party itself, she wants open borders.

From Wikipedia:

The Nazi Party emerged from the German nationalist, racist and populist Freikorps paramilitary culture, which fought against the communist uprisings in post-World War IGermany.[6] The party was created to draw workers away from communism and into völkisch nationalism.[7] Initially, Nazi political strategy focused on anti-big business, anti-bourgeois, and anti-capitalist rhetoric, although this was later downplayed to gain the support of business leaders, and in the 1930s the party’s main focus shifted to anti-Semitic and anti-Marxist themes.

To protect the supposed purity and strength of the Aryan race, the Nazis sought to exterminate Jews, Romani, Poles and most other Slavs, along with the physically and mentally handicapped. They disenfranchised and segregated homosexuals, Africans, Jehovah’s Witnesses and political opponents.[11] The persecution reached its climax when the party-controlled German state set in motion the Final Solution–an industrial system of genocide which achieved the murder of an estimated 5.5 to 6 million Jews and millions of other targeted victims, in what has become known as the Holocaust.[12]

We aren’t exterminating Hispanics yet - we are just interning them in camps, vilifying them as rapists and criminals, and trying to keep them out of the country in general, appealing to Trump’s nationalist and populist followers. Trump is attempting to marginalize the “truth tellers” in the media by characterizing them as the “enemy of the people”, a phase Hitler used.

I wonder what it is about Latin America that Hispanics prefer the extermination camps of the US to countries like Venezuela or Cuba where they would be treated with dignity and compassion.

Kids aren’t force to live in schools without being allowed to leave.

AOC owes no one an apology. That is snowflake thinking, victim thinking. It doesn’t take a 6th grade education to know basic set thinking. An extermination camp is a concentration camp. Not all concentration camps are extermination camps. Hitler ran concentration camps, as did Roosevelt. Not all concentration camps are ran for evil purposes, or out of fear.

It may be the term is a matter of rhetoric, but it probably is the most accurate term, along with detention camps. If these terms are uncomfortable, maybe they should be.
