I did not call you Euro American. I am addressing the mentality behind the characters that stole the display and made a point of throwing it into the Roman Tiber! That is not a nothing attitude. It comes from somewhere and time will reveal i
The persons who did it made a statement about why they did it.

Let me make my position clear.

I am against idols in Churches.

I am also of the opinion that there are better ways to get them out than stealing them and throwing them in the river all the while filming ones self.

At the end of the day this caused great scandal, the wooden carvings and their role on the Consecration ceremony.

What should have happened so as the clergy, no less the Pope and the Cardinals did not cause scandal to Catholics,

there should have been a definitive statement and news conference to head off this scandal.

It has divided the faithful and caused questioning of their leadership and its decisions.

But no one is worshiping statues, is the point

The ceremony was to advocate protection of the environment which humans are destroying in the Amazon Rain Forest.

It wasn’t a religious rite or worship as being claimed here.

I would peacefully gather round the Church and pray like what people do in front of abortion clinics.

So you don’t salute the American Flag and stand for the National Anthem ?

Why was a religious prostrating himself in front of it?

We have almostt 500 posts on 1 forum alone due to this scandal or perceived scandal not being squashed

The Vatican, our leaders have a duty to speak up to us

Theft? They were removing sacrilegious trash from the church. I like what St. Boniface did to the tree too.

I just took the filming as a quiet reassurance.I felt real relief watching the video and I felt grateful for the two doing this on God’s behalf ,for my behalf and for so many saddened and confused people.

First off, the person in the brown robe ? You don’t know who he is. Is he Catholic ? We don’t know

Second, the website Novus Ordo Watch, is that because they hate the Novus Ordo keep an eye out for heresy ?

Seems insulting to us Novus Ordo participants.

How do you even know he was a Catholic religious ?

People wear religious garb even when they’re new age.

Lastly, we don’t actually know what he was doing

You have to rely on someone like Voris or Fr Z, were not there, tell you what they were doing.

FYI, it would be called, “rite,” not “right.”

It was a ceremony, not a religious service

If you’re going to equate it as a religious service, then so is saluting the flag and standing during the National Anthem, a religious service, if using your logic.

Getting back to the topic… How do you feel about theft?
Artist Andres Serranos placed a crucifix in a jar of urine. It was sponsored in part by the National Endowment for the Arts, a United States Government agency. This was exhibited at the Stux Gallery in New York.

Artist Chris Ofili depicted the Blessed Virgin spattered with elephant dung. It was displayed proudly in the Brooklyn Museum.

If I saw them on display, I would hope that I would risk arrest to destroy these blasphemous displays insulting Christ’s Passion, and insulting His, and my most holy Mother!!! Theft simply wouldn’t be enough if you ask me. Destruction is in order!

So just because protestants say we Catholics worship statues, they’re right because they see what we’re doing ?

No, they don’t know what we’re doing and misjudge us.

Pretty much how Pope Francis is misjudged in this forum by many

The American flag is just a symbol, pachamama is a pagan goddess. Very different concept.

They are both symbols and a Catholic should know better

As someone mentioned earlier in this post, pachamama is a word used for fertility and life by the Amazonians at the Synoid.

The Aztecs used the term for their pagan worship, but the two groups are not the same.

It is a matter for Police and Justice, AdGloriam.
It has been reported already. It is in the hands of proper authorities.
