But I do think that the Tom Delay - Mariana Islands - forced abortion/ prostitution story has a connection to the immigration debate.
Then by all means, connect it for us.
I think that the issue needs to be looked at from a humane standpoint and not just the business side.
By all means, do so.
Mr. Delay exhibits an ability to put commerce before people and I don’t find that to be the action of someone who says he is guided by Jesus Christ.
I am still waiting for evidence of this. The allegation you provided earlier does not do this as an allegation is not evidence of anything.
I see that tonight Cardinal Mahoney will be leading the candlelight vigil in Los Angeles.
Yes he is.
Good for him and good for the Catholic Church for stepping out and doing the right thing.
From where I sit, the good Cardinal is misrepresenting the CCC on this issue and therefore the Catholic Church. Also, from where I sit I don’t find a place in the CCC where the Church supports the violation of just laws nor the intellectually dishonest practice of shifting the blame for a particular human tragedy from Mexico to the US;)
Hopefully, amnesty will be resurrected.
Hopefully, from where I sit, as amnesty was written into the Senate bill, it will remain buried in the grave of bad ideas.

Yes. Really. I said it, therefore take it as being said. Unless of course you have endless time at your disposal to ponder the nature of reality as concerns the digital word.

I took it to be part of the ongoing back and forth between Geldain and myself. He’s perfectly capable of asking politely for a link if he really wants one.
As I have pointed, Thekla, Geldain’s drawing your attention to your – yet again – lack of a link is as much a request for a link as my overt request for a link. I believe I have asked politely for a link. Do you have a link?

Geldain has commented quite effectively on this part of your post.

Do you have a link to this news story?

Evidence of this is?
How about the smoke and mirrors appearance of “trying” to save Terri Shiavo from being publicly murdered whilst under a GOP ruling class…I could go on but why? It’ll only get spinned or brushed off.

There is no GOP ruling class anymore than there’s a monarchy in America. This is non-sensical in the extreme.

Everyone knows where I stand on this issue, but at the end of the day it doesn’t matter if they give illegals amnesty or not. What matters first is border security to make sure as few as possible come over or if no amnesty all those kicked out can’t get back in.

I say build the wall, then kick the 11 mil. out
 Its comments as these that make me sick to my stomach. For your sake, I hope you never have to flee a country into another for refuge or a better life. You should be ashamed for even typing that 11million people should be kicked out. You plan to pick the crops and work the crummy jobs?

Bottom line here is, unless you’re full-blooded American Indian, not a one of you isn’t descended from immigrants.

The Native Americans in Arizona originally came from elsewhere.

I was going to get really nit picky but I figured we could cut if off there for now. 😃

But they were here first… so perhaps we should ask them what they think. And what they say goe? 👍

As long as I can be relocated somewhere with a lot of grass and hills and open space.

Oh great, the whole “I’ve lost the arguement so I’ll throw out the Native American card.” Isn’t this one getting as old as the racist card that’s been thrown around on these threads as well?

Give me a break, there are plenty of Americans willing to do that work as long as it pays a livable wage.

And this is the old “I can’t refute the fact so I’ll dun people for using an old argument”. Either bring some evidence supporting that everyone else in this country is as native to America as the Indians were, or don’t slam other people’s points.

How about no. Your only arguement, it seems, is to downgrade to that race card. You pointed out the obvious: most of America is made up of descendants of immigrants. So what’s your point?
