*First off, this thread was about eating animals, not how we treat them, so PETA oriented comments aren’t relavent. **

**What country do you live in? Here in the USA where I live, the majority of meat comes from “farms” where we “grow” our meat, so as not to run out 😃 . **

Remember folks, There’s room on this earth for all animals…right next to the mashed potatoes.

Never forget Cain was the founder of PETA.

I stick to limit species of animals as food.

I’m an animal right activist. I strongly oppose my fellow countrymen’s logic of eating everthing to extinction.
Animals don’t have rights in the same way human beings do – that’s why they’re called “animals.”

Regarding your second point, the surest way to preserve a species is to encourage people to eat it. Are chickens, cows, pigs, geese, rabbits, clams, shrimp, etc. etc. in danger of going extinct? Of course not, because there is a market for them. Producers have an economic interest in raising as many of these animals as possible because people will buy them. So if you want to remove the Spotted Toegrabber from the engangered species list, fire up the grill and start cooking it. Before you know it, Spotted Toegrabber farms will sprout up all over the place. (*)

You are nothing more than a vegetable killer. How dare you blatantly and with malice pull those harmless vegetables from their homes. What did they ever do to you? At least an animal has a sporting chance, they could run or swim away or hide, they have teeth and hooves. But yet you prefer to eat Bob and Larry and poor defenseless little Junior Asparagus.

SAVE THE VEGGIES, EAT MEAT!

OH THE HOROR!

This carrot is seen skinned alive, bleeding over a kitchen sink. This type of action MUST STOP!! How can the world say it is civilized when such brutality still exists everywhere?

****he asked them, “Have you anything here to eat?**” They gave him a piece of baked fish; he took it and ate it in front of them.

Notice that Jesus himself did not kill the fish. Just an observation.

Hello Ahimsa. Are you saying that Jesus having someonelse do his killing for His meals makes eating fish ok? Are you saying that for Jesus to kill a fish Himself would be a sin?

If someone was a conspiritor in the mass destruction of fish’s lives, would this be a sin?

I hope we are all just laughing and not serious over our silly little discussion on this thread about killing animals to eat.

NAB JOHN 21:4
Jesus said to them, “Children, have you caught anything to eat?” They answered him, “No.” So he said to them, “Cast the net over the right side of the boat and you will find something.” **So they cast it, and were not able to pull it in because of the number of fish.

There is nothing better than elk loin, especially when youi’ve packed the carcass up out of a canyon at 11,000 feet. It takes an exhausted man to really appreciate a good piece of meat.

Amen. We have already eaten all our venison this year. 😦
MMMMM! And backstraps fried up in butter and garlic, YUM!

Well, if we’re going to nitpick about what Jesus ate, then why are there photos of piggies.

All Jesuus seemed to eat was fish. I would think he must have had lamb during the passover celebrations, but fish, fish and more fish, and fish is the symbol of Chritianity and some Italians think you need seven types of fish to eat to celebrate Christmas properly…so maybe that is all anyone should from the animal kingdom eat fish.

We really do have so many more food options that don’t involve animals these days. The secret to tofu is all in the marinade…but they say the same about snails, and I can forgive people with trepidations about trying tofu, becuase I cna’t imagine ever gaining the courage to try a snail unless maybe it was the key to being the winner on survivor.

I just finished eating some premium cut Jewel Brand Bacon…TASTEY SWINE INDEED! 👍

Hi Steve,

I noticed that nowhere in the New Testament is Jesus portrayed as killing an animal. I find that interesting, especially given the fact that many Christian renunciates (monks, e.g.) are vegetarian.

Personally, my experience has been that abstaining from meat greatly clears the thought process and makes moods more even.
