Anniversary of a 5 year thread

Had 6 month checkup with my urologist this morning. Everything looks good.
 
They both look nice. They should serve the faithful for many years.

Oh my, but I’ve been gone a LONG time.
I had been too busy to bother with Catholic Answers for quite some time, especially as I had been working the overnight shift and my body never recovered.
THEN I find that they messed up CA. I don’t like it! The only good change is no change.

Now to find that our old friend is dead and gone?? Say it ain’t so.
Can we look back at it anywhere or did CA get rid of it before the scribes could hand copy it?

I had a similar experience. I was gone from CAF for a little while and when I came back not only did I not recognize the place but I couldn’t log in. I ended up setting up a very slightly different User ID to get back in.

As far as the old posts, they are still out there. A search on a particular topic will reveal the old threads.

A lot of the old content from the old “Clubhouse” is gone, including all of the old Ban threads. As a result, I lost a lot of posts in the transition.

I just saw that my last email alert from CAF was on Sept. 2, 2017. (Since then the only emails are a few regarding passwords and me trying to resurrect “The Reginator”.)
The thread(s) I’d like to revisit are “Ignore This” and its offspring.

One sad thing is that via Facebook I’ve been in contact with some former members, two of which have passed away.

I don’t usually follow this thread…but I look forward to bumping into you around CAF again. 😀

BTW, after some initial problems I’ve come to love the new format and wouldn’t go back. We did seem to lose more than the usual number of regulars when they made the change though.

Yes, that was D-Day. The forum went down for a few days and came back up on Sept. 5th with it’s new coat of paint.

All the old Clubhouse threads are completely gone. Right after the transition, they didn’t even have this Casual Discussion category. They only added it because people were starting game threads under Site Feedback for lack of anywhere else to put them. 😝

Oh, that’s right, I completely forgot about that. There was such an uproar over not having a forum to just hang out. Of course, Casual Discussion is where the most civil discussions take place! 😄
